Perpetualis was one of the first Strand auto rifles to be released in Destiny 2. As a 600 RPM auto rifle, it quickly caught a lot of attention. But does it live up to the expectations?

How good is Perpetualis?
While Auto Rifles aren’t all that potent in the current sandbox, Perpetualis’ unique Strand element helps it for the time being. It can roll with some of the best synergistic perks for Strand subclasses in PvE and can be pretty reliable in PvP.
Perpetualis does see competition in The Summoner, Chroma Rush, and Gnawing Hunger, but they each excel at drastically different things.
Overall, we consider it A-tier for PvE and and B-tier for PvP.

Best Perpetualis Perks & God Rolls
The Perpetualis Auto rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Zen Moment, Hip-Fire Grip, Perfect Float, Killing Wing, Elemental Capacitor, Keep Away, Envious Assassin
- Perk 2: Demolitionist, Offhand Strike, Eye of the Storm, Cascade Point, Golden Tricorn, Target Lock, Hatchling
- Origin Trait: Noble Deeds
Perpetualis PvE god roll
- Barrel: Polygonal Rifling or Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Tactical Mag or Flared Magwell
- Perk 1: Keep Away
- Perk 2: Demolitionist or Hatchling
- Masterwork: Reload
In reality, Perpetualis is much more of a PvE pick. It doesn’t really matter what barrel and magazine you run here. Tactical Mag and Flared Magwell are great for their wide range of benefits, while the barrels mentioned during the PvP section give substantial stat bumps.
In column three, Keep Away is best. Depending on your build, Demolitionist and Hatchling can be outstanding for column four.
Perpetualis PvP god roll
- Barrel: Polygonal Rifling or Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Magazine: Steady Rounds or Accurized Rounds
- Perk 1: Killing Wind (also good: Keep Away)
- Perk 2: Target Lock (also good: Eye of the Storm)
- Masterwork: Range
For PvP, the best thing to go for here is consistency. Polygonal or Hammer-Forged Rifling are good for stability and range, respectively, depending on what you want. Same thing with the magazine—you’ll want either Steady or Accurized Rounds.
For perks, Keep Away and Killing Wind are great in the third column, while Eye of the Storm and Target Lock are best in the fourth.
How to get the Perpetualis
Previously part of the Season of Defiance (S20) loot pool, the Perpetualis can be acquired from the Avalon Exotic Mission.
Exotic Missions offer several rewards: An Exotic weapon, a Catalyst, and several Legendary craftable weapons, including Perpetualis. Avalon uses the same reward structure as the other Exotic Missions on rotation:
- The first completion of the mission on Standard or Expert difficulty will award the Exotic Deepsight weapon associated with the mission.
- Each weekly completion of the Exotic mission (any difficulty) will award an intrinsic upgrade to be used when crafting the Exotic weapon.
- Each completion of the Expert version of the Exotic mission will award a Catalyst upgrade for the crafted Exotic weapon.
🛑 Avalon requires ownership of the Lightfall DLC.
