Destiny 2 Legend Lost Sector Today: Exotics & Weapons

Destiny 2 is definitely more fun when played with friends. While most activities do require or encourage group play, there is one exception: Expert/Master Lost Sectors.

On top of offering Exotic armor when completed Solo, Expert/Master Lost Sectors also reward select weapons from the World loot pool.

Lost Sector Today: Expert and Master

Expert and Master Lost Sectors are on a daily rotation. Today’s Lost Sector is available from 10 AM PDT until tomorrow at 10 AM PDT.

Lost Sector Weapons: Rotation

Expert/Master Lost Sectors reward specific weapons from the World Loot pool. These weapons used to be extremely elusive to farm, but with only 4 on rotation daily, they are much easier to farm. Weapons drop at these rates, assuming that all Champions are eliminated:

  • Expert – 70%
  • Master – 100%

As an added bonus, Master difficulty completions reward weapons with an additional perk in either the third or fourth column. This is the complete list of weapons that can drop from Lost Sectors:

Exotic rewards: Engrams

Exotic armor was notoriously difficult to farm. With so many Exotics available per Class, farming a specific Armor piece was next to impossible. Expert/Master Lost Sectors changed that with the introduction of target farming-specific armor slots per day.

But with the release of The Final Shape, Expert/Master Lost Sectors now reward Exotic Engrams. As confirmed by Bungie:

First, Lost Sectors will keep the same drop rates for Exotics but will instead drop engrams whenever they would have previously dropped gear.

This means Rahool is now the only source for new Exotic armor.  We cover Exotic Focusing at Master Rahool here.

Legendary Lost Sector Today: Guides

Solo Lost Sectors can be challenging activities, but regardless of your skill, you need to make sure you bring weapons with matching elements and armor with the necessary Champions mods.

How to unlock Legend & Master Lost Sectors? You’ll need to complete the normal version of the Lost Sector and reach 1940 Power Level to see them in the Director.

Best Lost Sectors to farm?

It’s common knowledge that Lost Sectors were not created equal. Some are much easier and/or faster to complete than others. This is how we rank every Lost Sector on rotation this season, from easiest to farm to hardest:

Lost Sectors Level Requirements

If you’re interested in farming Legend and/or Master Lost Sectors, you need to have a proper Power Level (including your Artifact’s bonus Power):

Drop rates

Bungie doesn’t provide official figures regarding drop rates other than their vague “rare” or “common” indications. Luckily, dedicated Guardians have put in the work to run and track hundreds of Legend Lost Sectors. Reddit user LostSectorLoony ran 600+ Lost Sectors. These were his findings:

From a total of 604 Lost Sectors, he received 138 exotic drops for a total drop rate of 22.85%.

Another important finding to keep in mind is that “run time does not seem to affect drop rates.” In other words, run faster Lost Sectors when possible

    I just started to do all the Master Lost Sectors (4 complete, solo flawless) after completing all the currently available Legendary Lost Sectors solo flawless. It’s a fun goal, and pushes me to improve my build craft and weapons choices.
