Destiny 2’s 2025 Festival of the Lost event is upon us and will feature Halloween-themed gear, an Event Home, and brand-new gamemodes. Here’s everything you need to know about Festival of the Lost, including its schedule, activities, and rewards.
2025 Festival of the Lost Schedule
Festival of the Lost 2025 starts October 21, 2025, and will be available for free to all players. The event is two weeks long and occurs once per year.
- Festival of the Lost starts on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 9 AM PDT
- Festival of the Lost ends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 9 AM PDT
Festival of the Lost Rewards in 2025
While most Guardians will jump into Festival to grab its themed armor sets, the event’s exclusive weapons are another perfect excuse to join in the fun. We cover all Festival of the Lost weapons and Festival of the Lost Armor here.
It is worth mentioning that The Edge of Shape DLC introduced two new weapons (plus the re-release of Arcane Embrace with revised perks):
You can earn these weapons from Eerie Engrams, which drop from the two event-specific activities, with up to two daily Eerie Engrams also dropping from other Portal activities. You can also buy them with candy, earn them as part of the Event Home’s Rank rewards or buy them at the Event Shop. We cover how to get Candy fast here.
And best of all, Festival of the Lost Weapons will drop with a higher Tier than your current level, just like during Solstice.
Exotic Class Items?
Last year, Bungie surprised us when they allowed us to unlock the coveted Exotic Class Items without having to complete Duality by participating in the Festival of the Lost. All you needed were 2,500 Candy and 1 Eerie Engram. We shall see if 2025 delivers a similar feature.
Superblack Shader and… More Masks!
Festival of the Lost 2025 also marked the return of more Masks (as always), but more importantly, the Superblack Shader! It is yet to be confirmed, but expect it to return in this 2025 Edition.
What is Festival of the Lost
Festival of the Lost is a yearly event available to all players for free. Taking place in October, it is Destiny 2’s official Halloween event. More importantly, FotL comes with two exclusive activities this year: Haunted Altars (PvE) and Red Rum(ble) (PvP).
As confirmed by Bungie:
After years of delving into Haunted Lost Sectors, we have a new PvE activity coming to Festival of the Lost: Haunted Altars. It’s a six-player matchmade activity on the Moon and you could say it’s a spooky spin on Altars of Sorrows. Defeat waves of enemies, build defenses, and feed your monster before popping it like a pinata full of candy.
The other activity inspired by Festival of the Lost is Red Rum(ble). This is a PvP six-player version of Rumble where you shoot Headless Ones to drop ammo, explosive pumpkins, and more tools that will help you defeat your opponents.
How to enter Festival of the Lost
To enter the Festival of the Lost event, you simply need to visit Eva Levante, the main host for the event, at the Tower. She will provide you with a quest and, eventually, your Mask, which will play a central role throughout the event. If you’re new, don’t worry, FotL is a straightforward event, and Eva’s quest does a good job explaining the different mechanics.
When does Festival of the Lost end?
Festival of the Lost is a two-week event. It will end on November 4, 2025, and won’t return until October 2026.

You say it lasts for three weeks in the post, but list a date range that is only two weeks.
Yep, mistake on my end, thank you for the heads up
No that’s a 3 week time period..Oct 17th through Nov 7th
Hi, can rewards be farmed with three Guardians?
Can you create a page with the FOTL weapon godrolls?
