Stasis dominated the meta for a long time. It was Stasis that introduced Fragments and Aspects, and allow for customization never seen before in Destiny 2. These days, Strand might get most of the spotlight, but Stasis remains a powerful alternative. These are the best Stasis builds in Destiny 2, including builds for Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters.
And by the way, as with all the best Destiny 2 builds out there, these builds will guide you every step of the way, including essential Exotics, Mods, and more.

Hunter Stasis builds
Grasps of Duskfield
Excels in: Grandmaster Content
Goal of the Build: Keep areas locked down and protect your Fireteam with infinite Duskfield Grenades.
Mandatory Gear: Renewal Grasps. Weapons with Headstone are recommended (Buried Bloodline and Devour can help with Grenade regen).
![]() Name: Renewal Grasps | Class: HunterSlot: Arms | Source: Lost SectorsRequires: The Witch Queen | Exotic Perk: Your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield take reduced damage and targets inside the area deal reduced damage. |

![]() | Eyasluna | Hand Cannon | ![]() | ![]() | Grasp of Avarice Dungeon |

- Mods:
- Helmet: Harmonic Siphon (or Void Siphon if you use Buried Bloodline), Heavy Ammo Finder, and Heavy Ammo Scout.
- Arms: Impact Induction, Grenade Kickstart, and Harmonic Loader.
- Chest: Resistance Mods based on your enemies.
- Legs: Innervation, Recuperation, and a Weapon Surge Mod matching your Exotic weapon.
- Class Item: Bomber, Reaper, and Powerful Attraction.
Gameplay Loop
The gameplay loop for the Renewal Grasp build can be altered and changed depending on your needs and playstyle. But, despite the versatility, the core ‘needs’ of the build remain the same.
Whisper of Shards is the engine that keeps the train going, granting Grenade energy upon shattering a Stasis crystal. Forming crystals is easy with Headstone weapons or through Touch of Winter Grenades. Making sure you destroy every Stasis crystal you see is paramount to keeping the Duskfield spam going.
Despite saying this, Whisper of Chains also provides damage resistance when near a Stasis crystal, so timing is essential. Try to destroy Stasis crystals when you have gotten good use out of them as they can not only provide damage resistance but also deal solid AoE damage.
Overall, the aim is to lock down large groups of enemies and make them deal less damage while spamming Duskfields. This will help protect you and your Fireteam, regardless of difficulty.
The Frostbringer
Excels in: Endgame (Dungeons, Raids, Legend content)
Goal of the Build: Utilise the Fr0st-EE5’s to maintain high ability uptime, freezing all enemies on the battlefield from safety.
Mandatory Gear: FR0ST-EE5 and Dragon’s Breath. High-damage weapons are recommended.
![]() Name: Fr0st-EE5 | Class: HunterSlot: Legs | Source: Exotic EngramsRequires: Free-to-Play | Exotic Perk: Increased grenade, melee, and dodge regeneration while sprinting. Dodging increases your sprint speed. |

- Aspects: Touch of Winter and Grim Harvest.
- Fragments: Whisper of Conduction, Whisper of Rime, Whisper of Shards, Whisper of Durance, and Whisper of Chains.
- Abilities: Gambler’s Dodge, Duskfield Grenade.
- Stats Priority: Max Resilience 🡒 Discipline 🡒 Mobility.
- Mods:
- Helmet: Siphon Mod matching your weapon and Heavy Ammo Finder.
- Arms: Impact Induction, Focusing Strike, and Grenade Kickstart.
- Chest: Resistance Mods based on your enemies.
- Legs: Recuperation, Innervation, and Invigoration.
- Class Item: Powerful Attraction, Bomber, and Distribution.
Gameplay Loop
The overall goal of this build is to have a Duskfield Grenade available as often as possible. This is easy through our Grenade-regenerating Fragments, Exotic, and Mod choices.
Using your Grenade and Melee together is often unnecessary, as your Duskfield alone will freeze a target. Instead, save your melees for either an emergency where you do not have your Grenade, or use the cooldown to regenerate your Grenade through Impact Induction.
Using the Rapid Cooldown Exotic Trait on Frostees is also important. The perk will double your base Grenade and Melee ability regeneration rate, making them come back much faster.
Overall, utilize the Grenade-regenerating parts of your kit to ensure you always have a Duskfield ready for any group of adds.

Warlock Stasis builds
Stasis Engineer
Excels In: Grandmaster Content
Goal of the Build: Slow and freeze large groups of enemies using countless Bleak Watcher turrets.
Mandatory Gear: Rime-Coat Raiment and Ager’s Scepter.
![]() | Ager's Scepter | Trace Rifle | ![]() | ![]() | Exotic Kiosk |
- Aspects: Bleak Watcher and Devour.
- Fragments: Facet of Ruin, Facet of Balance, Facet of Purpose, Facet of Protection, and Facet of Dawn.
- Abilities: Nova Bomb: Cataclysm, Healing Grenade, and Arcane Needle.
- Stats: Resilience 🡒 Discipline.
- Mods:
- Helmet: Stasis Siphon, Special Ammo Finder
- Arms: x2 Impact Induction
- Chest: Resistance and Reserve Mods
- Legs: Surge Mods matching your equipped weapons
- Class Item: x2 Bomber, Reaper
Gameplay Loop
The primary loop of this build consists of throwing a Bleak Watcher turret down to control the battlefield, then recharging your grenade through Devour (which can be gained through any ability kill or by collecting an Orb of Power).
Ager’s Scepter, especially when used inside Bleak Domain’s radius, also helps to control hordes of enemies through Slow and Freeze. Once charged, your Super and Transcendence abilities can be used to kill larger enemies that don’t die from your other abilities/weapons.
Frostmaker
Excels In: Solo Content
Goal of the Build: Slow and freeze everything in sight, giving you tons of super energy and, eventually, a weapon damage boost.
Mandatory Gear: Mantle of Battle Harmony and Ager’s Scepter.
![]() Name: Mantle of Battle Harmony | Class: WarlockSlot: Chest | Source: Lost SectorsRequires: Beyond Light | Exotic Perk: Takedowns with weapons that have a damage type matching your subclass element grant you Super energy. While your Super energy is full, you instead gain a temporary bonus to weapon damage of the type matching your subclass element. |
![]() | Ager's Scepter | Trace Rifle | ![]() | ![]() | Exotic Kiosk |
- Aspects: Iceflare Bolts and Glacial Harvest.
- Fragments: Whisper of Chill, Whisper of Fissures, Whisper of Rime, and Whisper of Conduction.
- Abilities: No specific abilities are required.
- Stats: Discipline 🡒 Resilience 🡒 Recovery.
- Mods:
- Helmet: Harmonic Siphon, Special Ammo Finder
- Arms: Stat, reload, and dexterity mods
- Chest: Charged Up
- Legs: Stacks on Stacks, Innervation
- Class Item: Special Finisher, Empowered Finisher
Gameplay Loop
There isn’t a specific gameplay loop here; just use Ager’s Scepter and your abilities to freeze and kill as many enemies as possible. Mantle of Battle Harmony will provide super ability energy from said kills, while Glacial Harvest and our selected fragments will grant Frost Armor through Stasis Shards.
Once you reach full super energy, you have three options that are all very strong. The first is to use your super to kill a large group of ads (or even damage a boss!). Assuming you have excess Ager’s ammo, a second option is to use the firing mode from Ager’s Scepter’s catalyst, making the weapon freeze everything and do more damage. The third and final option is not to use either and instead take advantage of Mantle of Battle Harmony’s second perk, giving you extra Stasis weapon damage after a Stasis weapon kill (as long as you keep full super energy).
Unlike other builds, the Frostmaker is extremely potent while not having a super specific gameplay loop, meaning it can be effective anywhere.

Titan Stasis builds
Sir Lance-a-Lot
Excels In: Casual Content (Seasonal Activities, Strikes, etc.)
Goal of the Build:Pelt enemies from afar and control the battlefield with the improved Cadmus Ridge Lance Cap and Diamond Lances.
Mandatory gear: Cadmus Ridge Lancecap. I recommend using a mid- to long-range primary to land the critical hits from a safe distance.
![]() Name: Cadmus Ridge Lancecap | Class: TitanSlot: Helm | Source: Lost SectorsRequires: Lightfall | Exotic Perk: Diamond Lances create Stasis crystals on impact when thrown, with more crystals created by hitting bosses and vehicles. While using a Stasis subclass and behind your rally barricade, rapid precision hits and combatant final blows with a Stasis weapon creates a Diamond Lance near you. |
- Aspects: Tectonic Harvest and Howl of the Storm.
- Fragments: Whisper of Shards, Whisper of Conduction, Whisper of Fissures, and Whisper of Rending
- Abilities: Rally barricade, Shiver Strike, and Glacier Grenades.
- Stats: Resilience 🡒 Discipline → Recovery
- Mods:
- Helmet: Harmonic Siphon, Heavy Ammo Finder.
- Arms: Momentum Transfer and Bolstering Detonation.
- Chest: Resistance Mods based on your enemies.
- Legs: Surge mods matching your primary and special weapons.
- Class Item: Powerful Attraction, Reaper, and Bomber.
Gameplay Loop
This build is perfect in content where pushing up is not recommended, or just to have fun in casual settings. As Diamond Lances now grant Frost Armor stacks when slammed down, and create Stasis Crystals on impact when using Cadmus Ridge Lancecap, you can effectively be a long range support Titan. What’s great is that you don’t even need the aspect to make them!
First, your Rally Barricade is key to the loop working. Only when behind it and landing critical hits will the Diamond Lances spawn (if you don’t run the aspect, that is). After generating your first one, toss it into a group to create Stasis Crystals. Shattering them or the frozen enemies will grant you class ability energy thanks to Whisper of Refraction, as well as extra grenade regen from Shards and an orb from Bonds.
After this, push up to where they were, place your Rally Barricade to absorb the orbs, and take it from the top. Make sure to slam a Diamond Lance down every so often to give yourself and nearby allies Frost Armor stacks.
