Destiny 2 Wish-Ender + Catalyst: How to get them

by | Mar 18, 2024

Wish-Ender is a top-tier kinetic exotic bow. Its exotic perk enables its wielders to see enemies through walls when looking down the sights and the bow is fully drawn. Its ability to stun barrier champions in just one blow has made it a top choice amongst guardians taking on late-game content.

In this guide, we will cover how to get your hands on this powerful weapon and its catalyst, the best character builds for the weapon, and how good it is.

How to get Wish-Ender

To obtain Wish-Ender, you must complete the Hunter’s Remembrance exotic quest, which is available at the Quest Archive kiosk in the tower.

This quest requires you to traverse the Shattered Throne dungeon and defeat 3 unique hidden bosses. After defeating these 3 special bosses, you must progress through the dungeon until you come across a statue of the legendary Awoken archer Sjur Eido and interact with her. For a full, step-by-step guide to this quest, refer to our Hunter’s Remembrance quest guide.

How to get the Wish-Ender Catalyst?

Albeit a catalyst for the Wish-Ender may appear in the API, there is no Wish-Ender Catalyst in-game today. Bungie may be working on one but nothing has been officially announced as of today.

Be always careful when interpreting unannounced items from the API. We’ve seen catalysts in the API for years that haven’t been released yet. If anything changes in the future, we will update this article as soon as possible.

How good is Wish-Ender right now?

Wish-Ender features the following Exotic perks:

  • Queen’s Wrath: While aiming down sights with a fully drawn Bow, combatants behind walls are highlighted, and arrows pierce shields. Strong against [Shield-Piercing] Barrier Champions.
  • Broadhead: Piercing arrowhead that damages the target on entry and exit. One shot can over-penetrate multiple targets.

For some time now, Wish-Ender has been a prime contender for endgame PvE content. Its ability to instantly stun barrier champions is invaluable in tight encounters in activities such as Grandmaster Nightfalls and raids. In addition to high damage output, it also has the unique trait Broadhead, which allows arrows to over-penetrate and hit enemies behind your target, making it a surprisingly effective option for crowd control.

In PvP, its ability to see opponents through walls is highly useful for getting the jump on them and making callouts to teammates in Trials of Osiris. The weapon also provides exceptional damage against opposing guardians.

All in all, we consider it S-tier for PvE and somewhere between B and A-tier for PvP.

Best Wish-Ender Build

While Wish-Ender is a kinetic weapon and does not provide elemental synergies with any particular subclass, there is a Void Hunter build focusing on super recharge speed that is at least notable. YouTuber Aztecross has a video from back in Season of Plunder that details this powerful build.

Due to the exotic perk Broadhead’s over-penetration ability, each Wish-Ender arrow hits enemies three times, generating a nice chunk of super energy on each arrow.

To maximize super recharge time, you’ll want to choose the Nightstalker super Deadfall in particular, as it has the shortest base recharge length. For class fragments, you’ll want to ensure that you at least include the Echo of Reprisal Void fragment, which will recharge your super upon defeating enemies while surrounded. Pair this with the Echo of Exchange fragment to charge your grenade ability via melee kills.

For armor mods, you’ll want to load up on grenade-centric mods such as Ashes to Assets, which generate super energy upon grenade kills, Elemental Well mods such as Elemental Charge, which grant Charged with Light upon well collection, and Charged with Light mods such as Supercharged which allow you to store more charges of Charged with Light. Focus on maxing out your Resilience and Intellect to ensure your survivability and that you have optimal superrecharge bonuses.

If you follow this build, you will find your Deadshot super fully charged in no time and a powerful option for PvE content. Save this loadout!
