Destiny 2 Quicksilver Storm + Catalyst: How to get them

by | Mar 11, 2024

Quicksilver Storm is an Exotic auto rifle that used to be a Lighfall preorder bonus but can now be acquired from the Cryptarch at the Tower. This Kinetic auto rifle is not only considered one of the best Primary weapons in Destiny 2, but it can also deal Strand damage.

For all of these reasons, everyone should purchase this Exotic immediately. Today, we cover how powerful this Exotic Auto rifle is and tell you how to get both the weapon and the catalyst.

How to get the Quicksilver Storm Catalyst

The Quicksilver Storm catalyst can be acquired by completing the “Any Data Point in the Storm” quest, which you can acquire from Nimbus in Neomuna. You’ll significant progress in the Lightfall campaign to get access to this quest.

The Catalyst grants the following Exotic Trait:

  • Nano-entanglement: This weapon’s damage type becomes Strand. Final blows with grenades from this weapon create Tangles.

Once acquired, you’ll need 700 weapon kills to unlock it. Using typical farming methods such as Shuro Chi or the opening section of Grasp of Avarice will speed things along.

How to get Quicksilver Storm this Season

Quicksilver Storm was reserved for players who pre-ordered Lightfall DLC. This is standard practice for Bungie, as is currently the case for the Tesselation Exotic Fusion. But nowadays, any player that purchases Lightfall (Standard or Deluxe editions) will get Quicksilver Storm for free from the Cryptarch at the Tower.

Alternatively, you can also purchase it at the Monument to Lost Lights, provided you own the Lightfall DLC. Quicksilver Storm costs the following:

  • 1 Exotic Cipher
  • 100,000 Glimmer
  • 1 Ascendant Shards

The Monument to Lost Lights is located in the central area of the Tower, near the Gunsmith and right next to the Vault.

Quicksilver Storm drop rate

Quicksilver Store is not subject to drop rates as it can be directly acquired at the Exotics Kiosk. The only requirements are that you own the Lightfall DLC and have enough resources to purchase it.

How good is Quicksilver Storm

Quicksilver Storm features unique Exotic perks that set it apart:

  • Rocket Tracers: Landing multiple hits turns your next shot into a homing micro-rocket.
  • Grenade Chaser: Landing multiple rockets loads a grenade. [Alternate Weapon Action] to switch into Grenade Launcher mode.

Quicksilver Storm may be the best Primary weapon in the game. Good base DPS, a burst damage option that is remarkably simple to use, and the ability to create Tangles make this weapon an exceptional pick.

Quicksilver Storm benefited from a noticeable +25% damage buff in PvE. That buff, as well as the 40% extra damage primary Exotics deal to red bar enemies, puts Quicksilver Storm at the top of the charts for DPS and ad clear.

Overall, we consider Quicksilver Storm S-tier for PvE and A-tier for PvP.

This article is not correct. I have the Lightfall DLC, but did not preorder and the quicksilver storm is not available for me to purchase from the kiosk.

This garbage ad farm website hasn’t even bothered to been updated with correct information. This is Aztec Cross website He spoke about it months ago. He can make videos every 3 hours but he can’t add accurate information. I told other people about this and everybody’s pissed. Why would it be in the kiosk if you can’t purchase it?
