by | Jun 14, 2023

Quicksilver Storm is an Exotic auto rifle that used to be a Lighfall preorder bonus but can now be acquired from the Cryptarch at the Tower. This Kinetic auto rifle is not only considered one of the best Primary weapons in Destiny 2, but it can also deal Strand damage.

For all of these reasons, everyone should purchase this Exotic immediately. In this guide, we cover how powerful this auto rifle is and tell you exactly how to get both the weapon and its catalyst.

How to get Quicksilver Storm this Season

Quicksilver Storm was reserved for players who pre-ordered Lightfall DLC. This is standard practice for Bungie, as is currently the case for the Tesselation Exotic Fusion. But nowadays, any player that purchases Lightfall (Standard or Deluxe editions) will get Quicksilver Storm for free from the Cryptarch at the Tower.

Alternatively, you can also purchase it at the Monument to Lost Lights kiosk (but you need to own Lightfall). Quicksilver Storm costs the following:

  • 1 Exotic Cipher
  • 100,000 Glimmer
  • 200 Legendary Shards
  • 1 Ascendant Shards

The Monument to Lost Lights is located in the central area of the Tower, near the Gunsmith and right next to the Vault.

What is Quicksilver Storm drop rate?

Quicksilver Store is not subject to drop rates as it can be directly acquired at the Exotics Kiosk. The only requirements are that you own the Lightfall DLC and have enough resources to purchase it.

Is Quicksilver Storm farmable?

This is another common question. But just as said before, Quicksilver Storm is not subject to drop rates; therefore, there is no need to “farm it”. As a traditional Exotic, it only features one single roll, which means you only need to acquire it once, and that can be done directly at the Tower.

How good is Quicksilver Storm this season?

Quicksilver Storm features unique Exotic perks that set it apart:

  • Rocket Tracers: Landing multiple hits turns your next shot into a homing micro-rocket.
  • Grenade Chaser: Landing multiple rockets loads a grenade. [Alternate Weapon Action] to switch into Grenade Launcher mode.

And on top of being able to launch micro-rockets and grenades, it also benefited from a noticeable +25% damage buff in PvE. That buff, as well as the 40% extra damage primary Exotics deal to red bar enemies, puts Quicksilver Storm at the top of the charts for DPS and ad clear.

Because of its unique perks, great base stats, and recent buffs to auto rifles in PvE, we consider the Quicksilver Storm an S Tier Exotic for PvE.

Quicksilver Storm catalyst: Where to find it?

For the record, what made Quicksilver Storm go from good to excellent, was not a PvE buff but a top-tier catalyst.

How to unlock the catalyst?

The catalyst for Quicksilver Storm can be acquired from Nimbus on Neomuna. Once you have it, you will need 700 kills to fully unlock it.

To unlock the catalyst as efficiently as possible, any place with lots of easy-to-kill enemies can be a good spot. The Shuro Chi Wish Wall encounter from the Last With raid is a particularly popular spot to farm catalysts.

If you’re looking for top-tier exotics for PvE, you should definitely check out the excellent Regnant grenade launcher or the Conditional Finality shotgun.

This article is not correct. I have the Lightfall DLC, but did not preorder and the quicksilver storm is not available for me to purchase from the kiosk.

This garbage ad farm website hasn’t even bothered to been updated with correct information. This is Aztec Cross website He spoke about it months ago. He can make videos every 3 hours but he can’t add accurate information. I told other people about this and everybody’s pissed. Why would it be in the kiosk if you can’t purchase it?
