by | Apr 14, 2024

Orpheus Rig has always been a capable Exotic, but it just became one of the most popular and Meta Exotic out there, all thanks to its effectiveness in Onslaught, especially on Legend mode.

Today, we’ll go through acquiring this Hunter Exotic and using it to put together one of the best Hunter builds in D2.

How to get the Orpheus Rig Exotic

As an Exotic from Year 1 of Destiny 2, Orpheus Rig can be acquired as a random Exotic drop. The best and most efficient farming methods are:

In parallel, you should visit Xur every weekend and purchase his Fated Engram, as they, too, work on a knockout system and will always reward you with an Exotic you don’t already have. We cover Where is Xur Today here.

Best Orpheus Rig Build for Onslaught

Need to lock down enemies in Onslaught? This Orpheus Rigs build has you covered.

Orpheus Rig, Destiny 2

This build focuses on quick super regen using Orpheus Rigs. This is best paired with another Super spam build, such as Phoenix Protocol Warlock. It only requires:

  • Orpheus Rigs Exotic Boots
  • High RPM or AoE Based Primary (to generate Super energy faster when hitting targets).

☑️ Abilities: Marksman’s Dodge, Snare Bomb, Vortex Grenade.☑️ Aspects: Stylish Executioner, Vanishing Step.

☑️ Fragments: Echo of Obscurity, Echo of Starvation, Echo of Reprisal, Echo of Dilation.

🦾 For Stats: Resilience → Intellect → Recovery.

Armor Mods:

  • Helmet: Harmonic Siphon, Dynamo
  • Arms: Bolstering Detonation, Momentum Transfer
  • Chest: Resistance Mods
  • Legs: Insulation, Innervation, Surge Mod
  • Class Item: Powerful Attraction, Utility Kickstart, Bomber

Strategy & Gameplay Loop:

Orpheus Rigs returns Super energy for enemies killed while in the Deadfall Tether. However, it only gives up to 50% back by itself. Using this loop, we can get even more than that:

1️⃣ Charge Super by dealing damage, getting multi-kills, and dodging near enemies (Dynamo). Use finishers on targets to regenerate some of your dodge.

2️⃣ Use your Super as soon as you see a large group of enemies.

3️⃣ Kill the targets that are tethered using your Primary to regenerate Super energy. Be sure to pick up orbs and get free Super by dodging. If done right, you’ll have blown past the limits on Orpheus.
