Destiny 2 Vex Strike Force: Tracker and Exotic Rewards

by | Apr 23, 2024

The Vex Strike Force is a Public Event that occurs in Neomuna. It was introduced as part of the Lightfall Expansion and offers the best rewards ever seen in a Public Event: New Exotic Armor.

The biggest challenge, however, is not beating a Vex Strike Force but finding an active one. Vex Strike Forces occur randomly throughout the day, which means you would have to check the Neomuna every 15 minutes to find an active instance. Unless you follow our guide…

Vex Strike Force Tracker/Timer

We recommend following the Vex Incursion Network on Twitter to receive up-to-date alerts as soon as a Vex Striking Force becomes available.

The Vex Strike Force is a massive Public event that only occurs within the Vex Incursion Zone. The event will give you only 10 minutes to defeat six powerful Vex bosses, supported by high-level enemies and several red bar support troops. Needless to say, this is a tough event that requires you a competent group to succeed.

Most players actually refer to the Vex Strike Force when talking about the “next Vex Incursion Zone”. Vex Incursion Zones are always active. However, when you go there, you won’t see much more happening than usual; however, when the actual Vex Strike Force event starts, it is a different story.

Vex Incursion Zones

Vex Incursion Zones are designated areas in Neomuna that rotate weekly. In these areas:

Vex willappear in greater numbers and Strand Energy sources will temporarily increase Strand abilities.

To be clear, there will be an active Vex Incursion Zone active at the time. However, what most players are interested in is when the actual Vex attack event takes place.

Vex Strike Force Exotic Rewards

The Vex Strike Force is a difficult challenge, especially when tackled with a small group. However, it can reward you handsomely. You can usually expect Strand Meditations and several Exotic armor pieces per clear. You read that right; you can expect 2 to 3 Exotic armor pieces per run!

More importantly, Vex Strike Force and Legend/Master Lost Sectors are the only sources of new Exotic armor, including Season of the Witch’s brand-new Exotics:

As described by Bungie:

  • The Vex Strike Force event in the Vex Incursion Zone will drop a new piece of Exotic armor on a knockout list.
  • If you don’t have any Exotic armor left to collect, it will drop a random Exotic roll.

How often is the Vex Strike Force?

Vex Strike Force events have proven to be completely random. They can take several hours to occur, and for a full day every three days, there won’t be Vex Strike Force at all, as its designated zone overlaps with the Terminal Overload activity.

How to get Vex Strike Force?

There is, unfortunately, nothing you can do to trigger a Vex Strike Force event. These are global events that occur randomly, which means they become available simultaneously to all players worldwide; however, you can’t predict when an event will occur.

The best you can do is find a Vex Strike Force tracker that can notify you as soon as an event goes live.

Vex Strike Force locations

Vex Strike Forces can only occur in Vex Incursion Zones, which rotate and change location every week. The three different areas on rotation are the following:

  • Zephyr Concourse
  • Ahimsa Park
  • Strider’s Gate

Before you go…

Neomuna is indeed one of the most active destinations in Destiny 2. On top of the Vex Strike Force event and Vex Incursion Zones, you can also tackle the Terminal Overload event. Overall, this destination offers a few top-tier Neomuna weapons that are definitely worth your attention.
