No New Exotic Armor in Destiny 2? Season of the Wish (S23) Disappoints

by | Nov 29, 2023

Destiny 2 is all about chasing the latest and greatest loot. And for that reason, you can expect new weapons and armor to grab all the headlines at the launch of a new Season or DLC.

This guide focuses on one of the most sought-after items in the game: Exotic armor. And if you’re interested in slightly older Exotics, our Hunter Exotics, Titan Exotics, and Warlock Exotics tier lists cover every Exotic armor available in Destiny 2.

No New Exotic Armor this Season

Every new season comes, in general, with one new Exotic armor piece per class (full expansions, such as Lightfall, tend to include two pieces per class). However, some Seasons come with no new Exotic armor at all, and that’s a shame.

As was the case for Season of Arrivals, Season of the Wish does not feature Exotic armor. This means we’ll be left with no new Exotic armor pieces for seven months until the released of the delayed The Final Shape DLC, scheduled for June 4, 2023.

How to get the new Exotic armor in Destiny 2

New Exotic armor (released since the Beyond Light DLC) can only be obtained from either Legend/Master Lost Sectors and Vex Strike Forces.

Lost Sector farming

If you’re looking for new Exotic armor, those can be farmed by completing Legend and Master Lost Sectors solo on specific days (Lost Sector rewards are on a daily rotation, one day will reward Legs pieces, the next day only Arms pieces, etc). You can read more about how to farm Legend and Master Lost Sectors here.

Vex Strike Force Public event

Another option is to participate in Vex Strike Forces, which are unique (and very challenging) Public events that randomly occur in Neomuna. These can drop up to three Exotic armor pieces per completion!

Before you go…

Not all Exotic armor was created equal. In spite of Bungie routinely buffing and nerfing specific Exotics every Season, some will always be superior. Some are definitely more worth farming than others. To help you figure this out, we recommend checking our Warlock, Titan, and Hunter Exotic tier lists.
