[toc] Meant to replace the infamous Pinnacle weapons, Ritual weapons are nowhere as strong as their predecessors. Still, they are generally better than the average Legendary weapon and featured a fixed roll with two perks per slot. This means they can cater to both PvE and PvP. While they will never be best-in-class (except maybe Salvager’s Salvo), they are excellent alternatives to take with you.
This guide covers all the weapons that can drop from the Crucible and tells you how to best farm them.

Ritual weapons: Ranked
If you’re thinking about chasing one of these but do not know where to start, this Tier list ranks them all, from best to worst:
Item | Weapons | Type | Archetype | Ammo? | Element? | Requirements | In loot pool? | Rank | Source | Available? | Tier rank | Source ❘ DLC | Final Verdict | Released | Perks | Best of? |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Point of the Stag | Point of the Stag | Combat Bow | Precision | Primary | Arc | Free-to-Play | Yes | S › Best | Iron Banner | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Iron Banner Free-to-Play | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Precision PvE God Roll: Archer's Tempo + Precision Instrument (also good: Golden Tricorn or Vorpal Weapon) PvP God Roll: Archer's Tempo (also good: Elemental Capacitor) + Swashbuckler ► Back with random rolls, Point of the Stag is even nastier than its first inception. With the ability to roll with Swashbuckler, this will easily be a favorite of any PvP bow user, and the old fixed roll is still there for the PvE mains. | Season 10 | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Precision PvE God Roll: Archer's Tempo + Precision Instrument (also good: Golden Tricorn or Vorpal Weapon) PvP God Roll: Archer's Tempo (also good: Elemental Capacitor) + Swashbuckler | Top-tier | |
Salvager's Salvo | Salvager's Salvo | Grenade Launcher | Lightweight | Special | Arc | Free-to-Play | Yes | S › Best | Exotic Kiosk | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Exotic Kiosk Free-to-Play | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Lightweight PvE God Roll: Ambitious Assassin (also good: Demolitionist) + Chain Reaction ► Salvager's Salvo is incredibly easy to obtain and is still an extremely powerful option. This is a versatile weapon with its set rolls, allowing for some backup boss damage or some of the best add clear in the game. It is perhaps slightly outmatched by Forbearance but remains close due to how easy it is to get. | Season 13 | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Lightweight PvE God Roll: Ambitious Assassin (also good: Demolitionist) + Chain Reaction | Top-tier | |
Ecliptic Distaff | Ecliptic Distaff | Glaive | Adaptive | Special | Void | Free-to-Play | Yes | A › Strong | Playlist: Pursuit | Strong ❘ A Excels in: PvE | Playlist: Pursuit Free-to-Play | Slot: Void | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Adaptive PvE Fixed Roll: Replenishing Aegis + Close to Melee (also good: Destabilizing Rounds) ► Typically, ritual weapons like Ecliptic Distaff release weaker than their randomly-rolled counterparts. Luckily, for this glaive, that isn't the case. Close to Melee makes the weapon feel so much more consistent, while Destabilizing Rounds is the perfect pairing for any Void build. | Season 20 | Slot: Void | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Adaptive PvE Fixed Roll: Replenishing Aegis + Close to Melee (also good: Destabilizing Rounds) | Top-tier | |
Ascendancy | Ascendancy | Rocket Launcher | Precision | Heavy | Solar | Free-to-Play | Yes | B › Average | Exotic Kiosk | Average ❘ B Excels in: PvE + PvP | Exotic Kiosk Free-to-Play | Slot: Solar | Ammo: Heavy | Archetype: Precision PvE Fixed Roll: Impulse Amplifier + Explosive Light PvP Fixed Roll: Impulse Amplifier + Chain Reaction ► Ascendancy is the prime example of a rocket launcher for new Guardians; it comes with tracking, a solid perk pool for most activities, and is available to all players. However, its damage is intrinsically lower than more popular options due to its precision frame, meaning you should only use this if you're still farming other options. | Season 15 | Slot: Solar | Ammo: Heavy | Archetype: Precision PvE Fixed Roll: Impulse Amplifier + Explosive Light PvP Fixed Roll: Impulse Amplifier + Chain Reaction | ||
Null Composure | Null Composure | Fusion Rifle | Rapid-Fire | Special | Void | Free-to-Play | Yes | B › Average | Exotic Kiosk | Average ❘ B Excels in: PvE | Exotic Kiosk Free-to-Play | Slot: Void | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Rapid-Fire PvE Fixed Roll: Feeding Frenzy + Reservoir Burst ► Having the highest base stats out of all Rapid-Fires, as well as solid perks, Null Compsure has the potential to be a real competitor in PvP. In PvE, it is outdone by Likely Suspect, but what Null lacks in a perk pool, it makes up in having a fan-favorite perk: Reservoir Burst. | Season 14 | Slot: Void | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Rapid-Fire PvE Fixed Roll: Feeding Frenzy + Reservoir Burst | ||
Adored | Adored | Sniper Rifle | Adaptive | Special | Arc | Free-to-Play | Yes | B › Average | Exotic Kiosk | Average ❘ B Excels in: PvP | Exotic Kiosk Free-to-Play | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Adaptive PvP Fixed Rolls: Killing Wind + Snapshot Sights ► Adored was initially released as a replacement for Beloved, but now Beloved is back (and is available without purchasing a season or DLC). Because of this, Adored has fallen into the trap that most Ritual weapons do: it's a great starter pick if you have nothing better, but finding a stronger option is anything but difficult. | Season 12 | Slot: Arc | Ammo: Special | Archetype: Adaptive PvP Fixed Rolls: Killing Wind + Snapshot Sights | ||
Last Rite | Last Rite | Scout Rifle | Aggressive | Primary | Kinetic | Free-to-Play | Yes | B › Average | Playlist: Pursuit | Average ❘ B Excels in: PvP | Playlist: Pursuit Free-to-Play | Slot: Kinetic | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Aggressive PvP God Roll: Keep Away + Opening Shot ► Last Rite is a decent weapon. Initially, players tried to use it like the Dead Man's Tale and hip-fire the weapon. However, this is the wrong way to go about it. Last Rite is a slower but more forgiving weapon and can be used somewhat effectively in all areas of the game. | Season 21 | Slot: Kinetic | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Aggressive PvP God Roll: Keep Away + Opening Shot | ||
Malediction | Malediction | Hand Cannon | Aggressive | Primary | Kinetic | Free-to-Play | Yes | B › Average | Playlist: Pursuit | Average ❘ B Excels in: PvP | Playlist: Pursuit Free-to-Play | Slot: Kinetic | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Aggressive PvP "Fixed" Roll: Discord + Explosive Payload ► Similar to most other seasonal weapons, Malediction falls into a pretty average spot overall. Unless you're waiting to farm other more powerful options, using Malediction just isn't optimal. | Season 22 | Slot: Kinetic | Ammo: Primary | Archetype: Aggressive PvP "Fixed" Roll: Discord + Explosive Payload | ||
Chivalric Fire | Chivalric Fire | Sword | Caster | Heavy | Void | Free-to-Play | Yes | Ongoing | Playlist: Pursuit | Ongoing... | Playlist: Pursuit Free-to-Play | Slot: Void | Ammo: Heavy | Archetype: Caster ► | Season 23 | Slot: Void | Ammo: Heavy | Archetype: Caster |
These are the different Tier levels used for this ranking:
- S Tier – Best: Highest ranking weapon types.
- A Tier – Strong: Very strong weapon types, but not on the same level as S Tier Choices.
- B Tier – Average: Decent choices that can be lethal in the hands of a skilled player.
- C Tier – Weak: The middle of the pack, somewhat mediocre.
- D Tier – Worst: Lagging behind the competition, these don’t have much to offer.
How to acquire Pursuit weapons farm
Unlike virtually every other Legendary weapon in the game that can roll with several rolls per column, Ritual weapons offer fixed rolls. One Perk combination is usually geared towards PvE while another is geared towards PvP. This means Ritual weapons do not need to be farmed, you just need to acquire them once.
There are currently 2 different sources of Ritual weapons in Destiny 2, the Exotic Kiosk and resetting your rank at your favorite vendor.
Resetting your Vanguard, Crucible, or Gambit rank
Ritual weapons released during the year (we are currently on year 5 of Destiny 2) can be acquired by resetting your rank at either Zavala, Lord Shaxx, or the Drifter. Ritual weapons were previously locked behind a quest, but nowadays, simply resetting your rank will reward you with the current Ritual weapons.

More??
Monument to Lost Lights, aka the Exotic Kiosk
The Monument to Lost Lights, also known as the Exotic Kiosk, was created to allow players to purchase Exotic weapons that could no longer be acquired (mostly because their quests were vaulted).
But on top of offering Exotics, the kiosk also sells several Legendary weapons, including Ritual weapons from previous years (Year 4):
