by | Apr 4, 2024

Iron Banner returns with a new weapon to chase, and what a weapon it is. Lethal Abundance has already proven itself to be a force to be reckoned with in PvP, and today, we’ll be showing just why that is and how to get this amazing Strand High-Impact Auto Rifle.

How to get Lethal Abundance

As previously mentioned, Lethal Abundance is an Iron Banner weapon, and as such, will only drop from that playlist or from focusing at Lord Saladin. As it is one of the newest weapons, it is available as a direct reward when reaching Rank 4 at Lord Saladin.

Once unlocked in your Collections, you can focus more Lethal Abundance versions for one Iron Banner Engram and 25,000 Glimmer. We cover this Season’s Iron Banner Schedule here.

How good is Lethal Abundance

In PvP, Lethal is living up to its name thanks to its perk pool and a specific interaction with Toch, a Season 23 Artifact perk, which increases your damage to any target affected by a Strand or Stasis debuff while radiant. As the weapon rolls with Slice (applies Sever to targets after using class ability), Solar Hunters can use their dodge to make themselves radiant and then apply Sever to another player, melting them in 4 crit shots. While the window of opportunity is short, it is a very lethal window.

Outside of this, the weapon can roll with Onslaught, ramping up its RPM from 360 to 450 while maintaining all other stats, making it a precision shooter’s dream.

On the PvE side of things, High-Impact Autos are not the most favored of the bunch. Even with the recent buff to all auto rifles, Precision Frame Autos are inherently better as they are much more stable and offer almost the same 60% crit multiplier that High-Impacts get. And if it’s the range you want, scouts and pulses do the job much better and more consistently.

Overall, Lethal Abundance is C-tier for PvE and A-tier for PvP.

Lethal Abundance PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Chambered Compensator
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk 1: Discord or Slice
  • Perk 2: Onslaught or Hatchling
  • Masterwork: Stability

While High-Impact Autos have the highest damage per shot out of any auto, the truth is that they are extremely unwieldy at range, so to counteract this, we’ll be using Chambered Compensator and Ricochet Rounds. While that might sound like a PvP roll, that’s because it is, but for good reason. High-Impact Auto Rifles hit for 60% extra damage on crits, meaning it is imperative that you land those compared to other auto rifles.

As for perks, Lethal has a few for mid-game PvE. Slice and Hatchling pair well for a Strand synergy roll, or you could roll for Discord and Onslaught for an ad shredder. Target Lock might seem like a good pick, but the lack of Triple Tap or Fourth Time’s the Charm makes it difficult to recommend.

Lethal Abundance PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Chambered Compensator
  • Magazine: Ricochet Rounds
  • Perk 1: Slice or Dynamic Sway Reduction
  • Perk 2: Tap the Trigger or Target Lock
  • Masterwork: Stability

This is where Lethal truly shines. While the quirky interaction of Torch + Slice is sure to make this gun very popular for Solar Hunters, it won’t stick around forever, so it’s better to focus on a future-proof roll than something seasonally sensational. As with the PvE roll, Chambered Compensator and Ricochet Rounds are your best picks here. With a Stability Masterwork, you’re looking at 85 Range and 61 Stability, which is insane for a High-Impact Auto.

🚨 As of writing, getting 100 recoil on Lethal Abundance does not give you the straight line as expected. Whether this is a bug or intentional is TBD, but keep that in mind when going for a roll.

For the perks, there’s very little to choose from, and for once, that is a good thing. If you’re a Solar Hunter wanting to take advantage of Season 23’s Torch Artifact Perk, Slice and Tap the Trigger/Target Lock are your best choices. Target Lock will help if the enemy has an overshield, but Tap the Trigger gives that consistency that some might need. If you want something that will stand strong after the season’s over, then Dynamic Sway Reduction and Tap the Trigger are what you want. I’d also recommend Elemental Capacitor if you are running Void, as it buffs the Stability by 20, meaning this god roll would have 81 Stability!
