Destiny 2 Eidolon Ally: How to get it & is it worth it?

How to get Eidolon Ally

To get Eidolon Ally, you will first need to defeat Crota in the final encounter of the reprised Crota’s End raid. Upon defeating Crota, you will be able to begin the quest Bottomless Pit via the Sword of Crota, which acts as this particular raid’s vendor chest.

Once you obtain the quest, there is only a single small step you’ll need to complete to get your hands on Eidolon Ally. Upon accepting the quest, you will be given a white box auto rifle called Husk of the Pit. It may not look like much now, but worry not, as this weapon has immense power waiting to be unlocked!

The first step of the exotic quest requires you to defeat 100 Hive with Husk of the Pit. Kills in the Crota’s End raid also grant bonus progress. If you are looking to complete the exotic quest to obtain Necrochasm, it is important to note that step 2 of this quest will require you to return to the raid anyway, so you may want to hit two Hive moths with one stone and head back into the raid.

If you want to get the quest step done quickly solo, you can head over to the Altars of Sorrow on the moon and start clearing out the Hive present there, and you should have the step completed in no time. After you complete this easy quest step – that’s it! You’ll have your hands on Eidolon Ally; congratulations, simple as that (but you’ll need to continue farming Essence of the Oversoul to get Necrochasm).

Is Eidolon Ally farmable?

There is no need nor possibility to farm Eidolon Ally. It is a fixed roll drop that is found only through the Bottomless Pit questline.

How good is Eidolon Ally

As mentioned earlier, Eidolon Ally is currently one of the most popular Legendary Auto Rifles in Season 22, coming in at #3 and #4 in PvP and PvE, respectively.

Eidolon Ally’s fixed roll perks provide increased range, handling, and stability, making it a great choice in The Crucible:

• Rangefinder: Aiming this weapon increases its effective range and zoom magnification
• Perpetual Motion: This weapon gains bonus stability, handling, and reload speed while the wielder is in motion

In addition to being effective in The Crucible, Eidolon Ally also comes fully loaded with the new origin trait Cursed Thrall which is unique to Crota’s End weapons. After a melee kill, this weapon causes defeated enemies to explode, damaging enemies around them. This origin trait is likely to be a lot of fun in PvE and assist greatly in clearing crowds of enemies.
