Destiny 2 Hullabaloo: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Mar 6, 2024

Guardian Games 2024 has arrived, and with it has come the second heavy compressed wave frame grenade launcher: Hullabaloo. While the first one (Dimensional Hypotrochoid) was released with very little excitement, Hullabaloo is coming with a buff to the archetype and a loaded perk pool on its side.

Today, we’ll cover everything you need to know about Hullabaloo: how to obtain it, if it competes in the current meta, and what its best rolls are. Let’s take a look.

How to get the Hullabaloo

Very generically, Hullabaloo comes from the Guardian Games event. Because of this, your only chance to score it as a weapon drop in 2024 is from March 5 to March 26.

As long as you log in to Destiny 2 during this time, you’re more than likely to receive Hullabaloo naturally. Whether it’s completing medallions from Eva Levante or stepping into Guardian Games-specific playlists, casually participating in the event is the easiest way to get your hands on this new heavy weapon.

How good is Hullabaloo going to be?

In what is a surprise to most, Hullabaloo is a relatively diverse option that, while not truly meta, is a competent pick for the majority of the game.

For PvE, there are two obvious routes you can go with this weapon: ad clear or DPS. For ad clear, the combination of Voltshot and Chain Reaction offers a Forbearance-like experience with the added bonus of Arc synergy. If you instead are looking for damage, Envious Assassin and Cascade Point are easily your best options. Of course, we wouldn’t recommend this over a rocket launcher or linear fusion rifle, but Hullabaloo isn’t bad for a heavy grenade launcher.

In comparison, Hullabaloo is nothing special in The Crucible. While it does no wrong and can provide some easy kills here and there, it offers nothing that its competition lacks.

As a result, Hullabaloo is A-Tier in PvE and B-Tier in PvP.

Best alternatives:

Hullabaloo God Roll and Perk Pool

The Hullabaloo heavy grenade launcher can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Impulse Amplifier, Enlightened Action, Field Prep, Auto-Loading Holster, Envious Assassin, Grave Robber, Voltshot
  • Perk 2: One for All, Vorpal Weapon, Cascade Point, Chain Reaction, Collective Action, Disruption Break, Golden Tricorn
  • Origin Trait: Classy Contender

Hullabaloo PvE god roll

  • Launcher Barrel: Quick Launch
  • Magazine: High-Velocity Rounds
  • Perk 1: Envious Assassin (also good: Voltshot)
  • Perk 2: Cascade Point (also good: Chain Reaction)
  • Masterwork: Handling

For PvE, we’ll begin by striving for high velocity with Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, and a velocity masterwork.

From there, as we mentioned earlier, two options exist. If you’re looking for a high-damage weapon for when heavy grenade launchers eventually receive a buff, Envious Assassin and Cascade Point are the winning combination. In contrast, for those looking for a fun ad-clearing alternative, Voltshot and Chain Reaction is the way to go.

While neither of these rolls pushes Hullabaloo into a position that’s even close to the top of the meta, the weapon proves to be a diverse and fun option to use when nothing else comes to mind.

Hullabaloo PvP god roll

  • Launcher Barrel: Quick Launch
  • Magazine: High-Velocity Rounds
  • Perk 1: Impulse Amplifier
  • Perk 2: Chain Reaction
  • Masterwork: Handling

Our recommendation for a PvP-focused roll on Hullabaloo is actually relatively similar to our PvE one, with a couple of minor tweaks.

Again, we’ll start by increasing Hullabaloo’s velocity through Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, and a velocity masterwork. In terms of main perks, nothing really stands out here. Our picks are Impulse Amplifier and Chain Reaction, but realistically, the intrinsic strength of this weapon and its frame will do most of the heavy lifting in The Crucible.
