Destiny 2’s Guardian Games event is here and features new armor sets, a new trace rifle, and the return of its boss rush-style activity (to be confirmed).

When is Guardian Games 2026: Schedule

As confirmed today, Guardian Games returns to Destiny 2 on March 24, 2026:

• Guardian Games starts on Tuesday, March 24, at 9 AM PDT
• Guardian Games ends on Tuesday, April 14, at 9 AM PDT

Guardian Games was first introduced in 2020 and occurs once a year.

Guardian Games Rewards: 2026 Edition

This year’s event will include a fair amount of loot: 

This year Guardian Games is receiving its first event home and will match The Dawning, Festival of the Lost, and Solstice in terms of rewards. That means you can expect a new shader, ship, emblem, Ghost shell, and guaranteed holofoil weapons ready for you on the event rank track.

As well as an additional source of Bright Dust in the shape of event-exclusive Vanguard Orders:

Additionally, for this Guardian Games, we’ve added new Rare quality Vanguard Orders focused on the event. These Rare Vanguard Orders will provide 50 Bright Dust per completion before the 1000 Bright Dust weekly threshold and 10 Bright Dust per completion thereafter. Players can only hold one at a time and, once completed, a Rare Vanguard Order will be replaced with another Rare Vanguard Order until the Guardian Games event ends.

Last year’s Guardian Games featured four weapons, including the Keraunios Trace Rifle. The rest of the Guardian Game weapons returned with updated perks, too. This year, we’ll get:

What is Guardian Games

Guardian Games is a yearly event that is open to all players. It pits every class against each other, but only one class can emerge victorious. Featuring exclusive mechanics and a brand-new game mode, Guardian Games 2025 will be a big one. This time around, Guardian Games will feature a new boss rush activity called Rushdown.

Rushdown is a boss rush-style activity where you’ll battle a series of bosses taken from Destiny 2’s campaigns, Seasonal story missions, and Exotic missions. With each boss encounter defeated, combatants in the activity increase in difficulty.

To enter the event, visit Eva Levante in the Tower to grab the intro Best In Show intro quest. At that point, she’ll give you the Guardian Games class item required to earn medallions.

Rushdown Modes & Difficulties

Rushdow features three distinct modes: Warm-up, Standard, and Expert. As you ramp up in difficulty, you can expect more powerful combatants, tougher modifiers, but also better rewards. As explained by Bungie:

Your performance will help determine the quality of your rewards. You’ll be judged on two criteria; bosses defeated, and total score. You can increase your score by completing encounters quickly and earning bonus points for the extra time remaining. Limiting your use of revive tokens will also increase your score.

Each mode features standard and class-based matchmaking.

How to win the Guardian Games?

Each Guardian can earn and deposit Medallions every day:

Class scores will be measured by the average medallion score of all players who’ve deposited a medallion that day, separated by class of course. The class that has won the most days by the end of the event gets the gold.

When does Guardian Games end?

Guardian Games is a three-week event. It will end on April 14, 2026.
