Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2025: Schedule & Rewards

Destiny 2’s Guardian Games event is upon us and will feature new armor sets, a new trace rifle, a boss rush-style activity, and the return of the Skimmer.

When is Guardian Games 2025: Schedule

Guardian Games returns to Destiny 2 on March 11, 2025:

• Guardian Games starts on Tuesday, March 11, at 9 AM PDT
• Guardian Games ends on Tuesday, April 1, at 9 AM PDT

It was first introduced in 2020 and occurs once a year.

Guardian Games Rewards: 2025 Edition

This year’s event will come with a fair amount of loot: themed armor sets and weapons, the Fizzled Games Memento, and the return of the Allstar Vector Skimmer. Everyone will get a temporary version of the skimmer, but completing the Drop In quest will allow you to keep it.

Guardian Games features four weapons, including this year’s Keraunios Trace Rifle. The rest of the Guardian Game weapons will return with updated perks, too.

We also expect the Heir Apparent Catalyst to make a return. Earning weapons will be straightforward:

• Completing at least three encounters in any mode will guarantee a Guardian Games weapon
• Reaching higher thresholds in Standard and Expert modes will improve your chance for additional perks
• High scores in Expert mode will also offer the chance to earn fully Masterworked weapons with additional perks.

What is Guardian Games

Guardian Games is a yearly event that is open to all players. It pits every class against each other, but only one class can emerge victorious. Featuring exclusive mechanics and a brand-new game mode, Guardian Games 2025 will be a big one. This time around, Guardian Games will feature a new boss rush activity called Rushdown.

Rushdown is a boss rush-style activity where you’ll battle a series of bosses taken from Destiny 2’s campaigns, Seasonal story missions, and Exotic missions. With each boss encounter defeated, combatants in the activity increase in difficulty.

To enter the event, visit Eva Levante in the Tower to grab the intro Best In Show intro quest. At that point, she’ll give you the Guardian Games class item required to earn medallions.

Guardian Games Rushdown, Destiny 2

Rushdown Modes & Difficulties

Rushdow will feature three distinct modes: Warm-up, Standard, and Expert.

As you ramp up in difficulty, you can expect more powerful combatants, tougher modifiers, but also better rewards. As explained by Bungie:

Your performance will help determine the quality of your rewards. You’ll be judged on two criteria; bosses defeated, and total score. You can increase your score by completing encounters quickly and earning bonus points for the extra time remaining. Limiting your use of revive tokens will also increase your score.

Each mode will feature standard and class-based matchmaking.

How to win the Guardian Games?

Each Guardian can earn and deposit Medallions every day:

Class scores will be measured by the average medallion score of all players who’ve deposited a medallion that day, separated by class of course. The class that has won the most days by the end of the event gets the gold.

When does Guardian Games end?

Guardian Games is a three-week event. It ends on April 1, 2025.
