Guardian Games 2026, Destiny 2
New Guardian Games Weapon (Renegades)
Last year’s Guardian Games featured four weapons, including the Keraunios Trace Rifle. The rest of the Guardian Game weapons returned with updated perks, too. This year, we’ll get:

![]() | Keraunios | Trace Rifle | Guardian Games Engram | Renegades DLC | ||
| The Beacon | Fusion Rifle | Guardian Games Engram | Renegades DLC | |||
![]() | Triple Laureate | Hand Cannon | Guardian Games Engram | Renegades DLC |
There is also a chance that the Heir Apparent Catalyst makes a return. We cover all Guardian Games weapons in detail here.
Earning weapons is always straightforward:
- Completing at least three encounters in any mode will guarantee a Guardian Games weapon
- Reaching higher thresholds in Standard and Expert modes will improve your chance for additional perks
- High scores in Expert mode will also offer the chance to earn fully Masterworked weapons with additional perks.

Destiny 2 Guardian Games Weapons: Ranked
The Tier list below includes every Guardian Games weapon in the game:
| Item | Weapon | Type | Archetype | Ammo? | Element? | Requirements | Rank | Source | Tier Rank | Source ❘ DLC | Verdict | Released | Best of? |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Title | ![]() The Title Submachine Gun | Submachine Gun | Aggressive | Primary | Void | Free-to-Play | S › Best | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvE God Roll: Repulsor Brace + Destabilizing Rounds ► After numerous years of being a below-average pick, The Title has finally proved itself worthy of farming in 2025. With Repulsor Brace, Destabilizing Rounds, and a pretty solid and exclusive origin trait, The Title easily competes with top dogs like The Recluse. | Season 23 | Top-tier |
| Keraunios | ![]() Keraunios Trace Rifle | Trace Rifle | Adaptive | Special | Arc | Free-to-Play | S › Best | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvE God Roll: Shoot to Loot (also good: Supercharged Magazine) + Chain Reaction (also good: Rolling Storm or Jolting Feedback) PvP God Roll: Rapid Hit + Target Lock ► Keraunios is another standard addition to the Trace Rifle roster. Coming with a variety of new perks such as Jolting Feedback, Detonator Beam, and Recycled Energy as well as interesting options like Triple Tap, Keraunios is an interesting pick. | Renegades | Top-tier |
| The Beacon | The Beacon Fusion Rifle | Fusion Rifle | Rapid-Fire | Special | Solar | Free-to-Play | S › Best | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvE God Roll: Envious Arsenal or Demolitionist (also good: Lead from Gold) + Bait and Switch or Reservoir Burst (also good: Burning Ambition) PvP God Roll: Lone Wolf + Closing Time ► If you’re looking for a replacement for that dusty Cartesian Coordinate, or you can’t get Zealot’s Reward, then look no further than The Beacon. This fusion rifle has a bit of everything for everyone, and it’s got the chance to have multi-perk rolls, making it even easier to land the god roll. | Renegades | Top-tier |
| Triple Laureate | ![]() Triple Laureate Hand Cannon | Hand Cannon | Spread Shot | Primary | Stasis | Free-to-Play | A › Strong | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ A Excels in: PvE + PvP | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvE God Roll: Crystalline Corpsebloom (also good: Graverobber) + Chaos Reshaped (Also good: Trench Barrel, One-Two Punch) PvP God Roll: Slideshot (also good: Rangefinder) + Opening Shot (also good: Kill Clip) ► Triple Laureate is a solid addition to the weapon type for both PvE and PvP. Triple Laureate is a great reason to dive into Guardian Games to pick up a holofoil god roll for what is arguably the best of the Spread Shot Hand Cannons so far. | Renegades | Top-tier |
| Taraxippos | ![]() Taraxippos Scout Rifle | Scout Rifle | Lightweight | Primary | Strand | Free-to-Play | A › Strong | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ A Excels in: PvP | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvP God Roll: Keep Away or Zen Moment + Precision Instrument or Explosive Payload ► Taraxippos remains a rather average weapon in PvE. In PvP, though, Taraxippos has more going for it and can be a consistent weapon, but it will be beaten by the top weapons. | Season 23 | Top-tier |
| Hullabaloo | ![]() Hullabaloo Grenade Launcher | Grenade Launcher | Wave | Heavy | Arc | Free-to-Play | B › Average | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ B Excels in: PvE | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: PvE God Roll: Envious Assassin or Auto-Loading Holster + Chain Reaction or One for All ► Hullabaloo is a solid weapon, but its frame is often seen as a joke. Recent buffs have granted it surprisingly good damage against heavier targets, and the Chain Reaction rework makes it clear rooms faster than ever before. | Season 23 | |
| Heir Apparent | ![]() Heir Apparent Machine Gun | Machine Gun | Exotic | Heavy | Arc | Free-to-Play | D › Worst | Event: Guardian Games | ❘ D | Event: Guardian Games Free-to-Play | Slot: Exotic Perk: "This weapon can be fired only when fully spun up. While at full health, spinning up this weapon protects you with an Arc Shield." ► Heir Apparent, a more casual weapon, is a fun option for players looking to mess around, but it isn't remarkable. The survivability is nice, but with the amount of healing we have in the game, the shield provided isn't necessary anymore. | Season 10 |
These are the different Tier levels used for our list:
- S+ Tier – Meta: Weapons so good they singlehandedly shifted the current meta
- S Tier – Best: Highest ranking weapons.
- A Tier – Strong: Very strong weapons, but not on the same level as S Tier Choices.
- B Tier – Average: Either decent weapons or weapons that fit a very specific niche/use case.
- C Tier – Weak: Mediocre weapons that are easily outclassed by the competition.
- D Tier – Worst: Weapons that don’t have much to offer and don’t deserve your attention.
🚨 Remember that all Guardian Games weapons feature an exclusive Origin Trait: Classy Contender.
What is Guardian Games?
Guardian Games is an annual event open to all players. It pits every class against each other, but only one class can emerge victorious. Featuring exclusive mechanics and a brand-new game mode, Guardian Games 2025 will be a big one. This time around, Guardian Games will feature a new boss rush activity called Rushdown.
Rushdown is a boss rush-style activity where you’ll battle a series of bosses taken from Destiny 2’s campaigns, Seasonal story missions, and Exotic missions. With each boss encounter defeated, combatants in the activity increase in difficulty.
To enter the event, visit Eva Levante in the Tower to grab the Best In Show intro quest. At that point, she’ll give you the Guardian Games class item required to earn medallions.
