Grasp of Avarice Dungeon Exotic

As every other (modern) dungeon in Destiny 2 does, Grasp of Avarice features an exclusive Exotic weapon, in this case, the Gjallarhorn rocket launcher. This Dungeon Exotic drops as part of a short quest that culminates within the dungeon.

Exotic Perk: “Rounds fired split into tracking cluster missiles upon detonation. Gain increased handling and reload speed when standing near allies. Firing this weapon also grants Wolfpack Rounds to nearby allies wielding non-Exotic Rocket Launchers.”

As with every other modern dungeon in Destiny 2, Grasp of Avarice offers one armor set for each class.

And just like both of Prophecy’s armor sets, these are top-notch, perhaps among my all-time favorites.

Master Grasp of Avarice Loot

Grasp of Avarice is one of the few dungeons in Destiny 2 to feature a Master version. While Raids offer Adept weapons to those who complete their Master version, Grasp of Avarice offers Artifice armor.

Every piece of artifice armor comes with an additional mod slot that allows you to round out your stat distribution. The unique mod slot allows you to utilize artifice armor mods, which give a +3 bonus to a stat of your choosing. These mods don’t cost any armor energy and are the perfect way to bump a stat up to the next tier—there’s no downside!

Is Grasp of Avarice farmable?

As is tradition, this dungeon can be farmed for unlimited loot. All you need is a committed Fireteam and a couple of hours ahead of you. You can run this dungeon as many times as you want on any given week. The Dungeon Exotic, however, can only be farmed once per character per week.

This is how you’ll be able to farm the Grasp of Avarice dungeon:

1. Go through the dungeon on your first character until you reach the encounter you want to farm.
2. Start the encounter and wipe (i.e. die without beating it).
3. Ask your Fireteam to wait. Change characters and log into a character that hasn’t run the dungeon that week.
4. On that second character, join your Fireteam again.
5. Wipe again. Now your second character has the proper checkpoint.

And that’s it. You can now farm that encounter ad nauseam until reset! To continue farming, you need to:

1. Launch the dungeon using your second character (the one that is holding the checkpoint).
2. Change characters and rejoin your Fireteam on your first character.
3. Complete the encounter for loot.
4. Exit the dungeon, switch characters again, and repeat Step 1.
