Destiny 2’s 2025 Solstice event is here, and it features exclusive gear and improvements to its core mechanics and rewards. Solstice 2025 also offers a brand-new armor set that can be acquired for free, provided you play your cards right…
Solstice schedule
Solstice 2025 starts August 5, 2025, and will be available to all players for free for two weeks:
- Solstice starts on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 10 AM PDT
- Solstice ends on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 10 AM PDT
2025 Solstice armor sets: The Edge of Fate
To clear all potential confusion, there are two types of Solstice armor up for grabs: a paid ornament and earnable armor sets from previous years.
How to get the Solstice Ornaments (with Bright Dust)
The Seaside Celebration Ornaments, the Summer-themed armor sets featured in the promo material, are universal ornaments that can only be acquired from the Eververse with either Silver or Bright Dust. Each set costs 6,000 Bright Dust.
If you have enough Bright Dust saved up, you can get any Solstice ornament for free. But if you’re low on Dust, prioritize completing all the challenges available at the Event’s Home, plus completing as many Seasonal Challenges rewarding Dust as possible before the end of the event.
How to get the Solstice Armor sets
As explained by Bungie, the goal of the event is to use the Solstice Forge to create a full set of armor, and then to make it glow. This will be a great opportunity to grab armor with the new stats and armor set bonuses. The upgradeable armor sets are the reprised Solstice sets from 2019.
Keep in mind that this year’s Solstice Armor sets feature Armor Set Bonuses. New Armor released with The Edge of Fate offers two set bonus perks, provided for equipping two and four pieces of armor from the same set. The Lustrous armor sets feature these two bonuses:
| Armor Set | Source | Bonuses | Released |
|---|---|---|---|
![]() Lustrous | Solstice | 2 Piece: Photogalvanic Receiving healing temporarily grants your Solar weapons increased flinch resistance, handling, and reload speed. 4 Piece: Cauterize Rapid Solar final blows heal you. | The Edge of Shape |

How to enter the Solstice 2024 event
To enter the Solstice event, you simply need to visit Eva Levante at the Tower once it becomes available. She will provide you with a quest and any other item you may require. If you’re new, don’t worry—Solstice is a straightforward event, and Eva’s quest does a good job explaining the different mechanics.
Solstice is a free yearly event that is open to all players. Originally launched in Destiny 1 under a different name, Solstice continues to evolve, featuring more and better activities and mechanics each year. As last year, Solstice features an overhauled PvE game mode called the Bonfire Bash:
Guardians can play the Bonfire Bash activity to earn rewards, including high-stat armor and the first-ever Strand Rocket Launcher, Crowning Duologue.
In addition to new armor sets, you can chase a new title, sparrows, and a brand-new rocket launcher!
Before you go…
Solstice is one of four yearly events in Destiny 2, alongside the Dawning, Guardian Games, and Festival of the Lost. If you’re interested in top-tier armor, these events are a must.
