Destiny 2’s 2025 Dawning event is upon us and will feature themed gear, an Event Home, and a brand-new gamemode. The Dawning 2025 also offers a new themed armor set that can be acquired for free, provided you play your cards right (more on that below).
2025 The Dawning schedule
Festival of the Lost 2025 starts October 21, 2025, and will be available for free to all players for 2 weeks:
- Festival of the Lost starts on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at 9 AM PDT
- Festival of the Lost ends on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at 9 AM PDT

2025 Dawning armor sets
The new set will be revealed on December 16. For the record, this is not an armor set but an ornament. It won’t feature an intrinsic perk like the Iron Banner sets do. However, as an ornament, you’ll be able to use it on your current armor without having to spend Synthweave.

How to get the Dawning armor sets for free
These Christmas-themed armor sets can only be acquired from the Eververse with either Silver or Bright Dust. Each set costs 6,000 Bright Dust.
If you have enough Bright Dust saved up, you can get any Dawning ornament for free. But if you’re low on Dust, prioritize completing all the challenges available at the Event’s Home, plus completing as many Seasonal Challenges rewarding Dust as possible before the end of the event. PS: Don’t forget to farm the exclusive Dawning Weapons too.

How to enter the Dawning event
To enter the Dawning event, you must visit Eva Levante at the Tower once the event becomes available. She will provide you with a quest and any other item you may require.

Dawning is one of the four yearly events in Destiny 2, alongside Solstice, Guardian Games, and Festival of the Lost. If you’re interested in top-tier armor, these events are a must.
