Destiny 2 Relentless: God Rolls & How to get it

Rite of the Nine is here, and with it has come refreshed versions of a variety of fan-favorite weapons. Among the three dungeons that got updates, it seems as though Prophecy has generated the most excitement from the community.

Today, we’ll dive into one of four weapons available from this new version of the activity: Relentless.

How good is Relentless

Beyond its unique synergies with the Strand subclasses, Relentless has missed the mark in most areas of the game.

For the Strand enthusiasts out there, Relentless’ ability to roll with Slice, Tear, and Hatchling offers considerable buildcrafting opportunities. However, these opportunities aren’t specific to this weapon, and high-impact pulse rifles generally aren’t the strongest in PvE. The only other potential avenue for this weapon is with Firefly and Elemental Honing, which, while potent, is a bit too niche for most activities.

In The Crucible, Relentless is slightly above average. With a couple of worthwhile perks here and there, you can’t necessarily go wrong with the weapon; on the whole, however, its competition simply outclasses it. Relentless is B-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

Relentless Perks and God Rolls

The Relentless strand pulse rifle can roll with the following perks:

• Perk 1: Keep Away, Tear, Rapid Hit, Slice, Lone Wolf, Firefly.
• Perk 2: Desperado, Elemental Honing, Hatchling, Headseeker, Closing Time, Paracausal Affinity.
• Origin Trait: Crossing Over, Gravity Well.

Relentless PvE god rolls

Fluted Barrel, Flared Magwell, and either a reload speed or handling masterwork grant us some much-needed stat bumps.

Firefly and Elemental Honing make up our favorite combo; because Firefly’s explosion counts as a source of Solar damage, you’ll nearly always have Elemental Honing x2 triggered by using this weapon alone. If you’re instead looking for a pairing for a strand build, Tear and Hatchling are your best bets.

Relentless PvP god rolls

We’ll start our PvP roll with Polygonal Rifling, Ricochet Rounds, and a stability masterwork to make the base of this weapon slightly more consistent.

We then recommend either Keep Away or Lone Wolf in column one—the choice between them is up to you, but both will end up boosting stats even more. Lastly, Headseeker is best in the final column, providing a bit more consistency if you miss a headshot or two.

How to get the Relentless

Relentless is one of twelve weapons refreshed with Rite of the Nine. When Prophecy is around during the event, you can obtain this weapon from any of the three featured difficulties of the dungeon. Relentless also has a chance to drop from the chest in the event’s hub, which is openable for 250 Nonary Manifolds.
