Despite its release about a year and a half ago, King’s Fall and its loot never reached the peak in popularity that most raids do. One of the least talked about weapons from the raid is Midha’s Reckoning, a High-Impact frame fusion rifle.
Is this lack of conversation warranted? Or is Midha’s Reckoning an underrated pick?

How to get Midha’s Reckoning
Midha’s Reckoning is one of six legendary weapons available exclusively through the King’s Fall raid. The raid, which is free to play for all Guardians, offers the weapon from the Golgoroth and Oryx encounters.
In addition to the weapon’s base version, Midha’s Reckoning has an Adept (or “Harrowed”) variant. This Adept copy comes from the Master version of the raid and offers extra stats, upgraded perks, and a wider selection of equipable mods. We cover the entire King’s Fall loot table here.

How good is Midha’s Reckoning
Midha’s Reckoning has never received much talk or praise from the community at large. To an extent, this is deserved for a variety of reasons.
First, Midha’s Reckoning is a part of the high-impact frame archetype. While they do have use cases in The Crucible, these fusion rifles simply aren’t favored by many in PvE scenarios due to their abysmally long charge time and clunky feel.
Despite this, Midha’s Reckoning does end up near the top of the pack for this archetype. While some weapons still outclass it, including Scatter Signal (and maybe Glaciocasm?), the weapon contains a host of perks that allow it to excel in total damage in PvE and general use cases in PvP.
Because of its general mediocrity and balance of good and bad traits, Midha’s Reckoning is a B-Tier pick for both PvE and PvP. Sure, some use cases lend themselves well to the weapon, but you’ll rarely encounter another player using it in the wild.

Midha’s Reckoning Perks and God Rolls
The Midha’s Reckoning fusion rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Cornered, Field Prep, Well-Rounded, Backup Plan, Pugilist, Unrelenting, Hip-Fire Grip
- Perk 2: Kickstart, Tap the Trigger, Golden Tricorn, Vorpal Weapon, Successful Warm-Up, Reservoir Burst, Surrounded
Midha’s Reckoning PvE god roll
- Barrel: Smallbore (also good: Corkscrew Rifling)
- Battery: Enhanced Battery
- Perk 1: Cornered (also good: Unrelenting)
- Perk 2: Surrounded or Reservoir Burst
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
While nothing pushes it past average overall, Midha’s Reckoning does have some interesting combinations that can lead to it being a solid option in a variety of scenarios.
Smallbore and Enhanced Battery are our picks for the barrel and battery, but both are mostly up to personal preference and don’t matter much overall in PvE.
For main perks, Cornered and Surrounded synergize perfectly to create a total damage monster. However, if you’re looking for a setup more focused on ad clear, Unrelenting and Reservoir Burst can do wonders as well. The explosion kills from Reservoir Burst proc Unrelenting’s health regeneration, and you can get multiple Reservoir Burst shots in the same magazine with the King’s Fall origin trait (Runneth Over).
While both of these setups seem highly effective (and they are, to an extent), they are by no means the best in either scenario. Regardless, these small victories create a weapon that is an easy recommendation, assuming you have none of the top meta picks.
Midha’s Reckoning PvP god roll
- Barrel: Extended Barrel
- Battery: Projection Fuse
- Perk 1: Backup Plan
- Perk 2: Successful Warm-Up
- Masterwork: Range
With the right perk combination, Midha’s Reckoning can excel in The Crucible. Let’s take a look at what you should be running here.
To start, our barrel, battery, and masterwork will be completely focused on gaining as much range as possible. This is typically the play for fusion rifles in PvP, and Midha’s is no exception.
As for perks, Backup Plan and Successful Warm-Up work nicely together. Backup Plan decreases charge time for your first shot, while Successful Warm-Up will do the same for subsequent ones. While the combination is relatively simple, the decreased charge time you get from both allows for a relatively consistent option that packs a bit of punch.
