Any time a new scout rifle gets released, they always seem to get the short end of the stick. Regardless of how good or bad they are, the weapon type has never truly entered the meta, resulting in little to no recognition.
But what about the ones that come from more difficult activities? Surely, they have redeeming qualities, right? Today, we’ll cover King’s Fall’s scout rifle, Doom of Chelchis and see if it does…

How to get Doom of Chelchis
Doom of Chelchis is one of six legendary weapons available via the King’s Fall raid. Being free to play and having a recommended power of 1600, this is one of the most accessible raids out there.
For Doom of Chelchis specifically, you’ll find the weapon in the Gate (opening), Totems, Golgoroth, and Oryx encounters. Additionally, an Adept (Harrowed) variant of the weapon can be obtained from the raid’s Master version, offering upgraded perks, enhanced stats, and unique mods. We cover the entire King’s Fall loot table here.
You can find all of our D2 God Rolls here.
How good is Doom of Chelchis
Doom of Chelchis is typically found in the same category as every other scout rifle, rarely seeing use beyond the occasional Grandmaster Nightfall.
In terms of its perk pool, Doom of Chelchis is actually relatively unique. With Explosive Payload, Firefly, and Vorpal Weapon all in the first column, the weapon can excel slightly beyond its direct competition, including the Hung Jury SR4 (but not the Polaris Lance).
In PvP, Doom of Chelchis (and scout rifles as a whole) are simply outclassed by other options. While Explosive Payload and Eye of the Storm can help it win in one-on-one duels, there are so many better options out there that we can’t recommend this one.
Because of this, Doom of Chelchis is A-Tier in PvE and B-Tier in PvP.

Doom of Chelchis Perks and God Rolls
The Doom of Chelchis scout rifle can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Steady Hands, Adaptive Munitions, Stats for All, Explosive Payload, Firefly, Vorpal Weapon, Rangefinder
- Perk 2: Unrelenting, Repulsor Brace, One for All, Frenzy, Focused Fury, Dragonfly, Eye of the Storm
Doom of Chelchis PvE god roll
- Barrel: Smallbore
- Magazine: Flared Magwell
- Perk 1: Explosive Payload (also good: Vorpal Weapon)
- Perk 2: One for All (also good: Frenzy)
- Masterwork: Reload Speed
As is typical in PvE, Doom of Chelchis’ barrel, magazine, and masterwork realistically don’t matter all that much here. We prefer choices that increase stability, handling, and reload speed, but anything works.
For main perks, Explosive Payload and One for All is a simple yet potent combination. Vorpal Weapon is also surprisingly good in the first column, assuming you’re using this weapon in Grandmaster Nightfalls and other activities that contain champions.
While Doom of Chelchis isn’t (and probably never will be) a meta pick, it excels to a relatively high level compared to other scout rifles.
Doom of Chelchis PvP god roll
- Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Perk 1: Explosive Payload
- Perk 2: Eye of the Storm
- Masterwork: Range
In PvP, Doom of Chelchis’ main competition is pulse rifles. To try and combat them, we’ll start with going for a high range stat with Accurized Rounds and a range masterwork.
Explosive Payload tends to be the highlight of column one, increasing the flinch your opponents receive. For the final column, we recommend Eye of the Storm to increase the weapon’s consistency. While even this combination struggles to surpass pulse rifles, it’s your best bet at making this weapon worthy in The Crucible.
