Destiny 2 Kinetic Tremors: Weapons and Perk guide

by | Jul 12, 2024

Energy weapons have had plenty of excellent perks, including Voltshot and Incandescent, but Kinetic weapons always lagged behind. That finally changed with the introduction of the Kinetic Tremors perk.

This guide covers the weapons that can roll with Kinetic Tremors, what the perk does, and how to build around it to make it even more powerful.

Kinetic Tremors and Enhanced Kinetic Tremors: Facts & Figures

Starting with the perk description, here is what Kinetic Tremors does:

Sustained kinetic damage to a target emits a shockwave that damages any nearby targets.

Let’s break that down so we can better understand how the perk works:

  • Sustained damage on a single target activates the perk
  • Emits 3 damaging shockwaves from the point of activation
  • Damage Radius of 5 meters

As of writing, there are no craftable weapons in the game that can utilize the Enhanced version of this trait. Thanks to Light.gg for the specifics mentioned above.

Taking full advantage of Kinetic Tremors

In order to activate the shockwave area effect, players must land 12 consecutive hits with Pulse Rifles or Sidearms or 6 consecutive hits with Scout Rifles on a single enemy. This will trigger the 3 shockwaves that damage enemies in the area around the target.

On a Kinetic Scout Rifle like the Hung Jury SR4, this perk can effectively stun multiple Unstoppable Champions at once. A particular encounter in a certain Mars Battleground Grandmaster comes to mind as the perfect place to try this out. If you couple an Adept Big Ones mod with Kinetic Tremors, you’ll find that your damage output will be pretty impressive.

The perk also pairs quite nicely with Kinetic Pulse Rifles such as Battle Scar, allowing you to stun barrier champions while simultaneously clearing minor enemies that may be nearby.

With the perk readily available on only a few weapons as of this season, it is only a matter of time before Bungie expands its availability to more weapons’ perk pools.

Enhanced Kinetic Tremors?

As none of the weapons that can roll with Kinetic Tremors is craftable, an enhanced version of Kinetic Tremors does not exist in-game. Having said that, Enhanced Kinetic Tremors does exist in the game’s API, which only confirms the obvious: future seasons will certainly feature craftable weapons that can roll with Enhanced Kinetic Tremors

Before you go…

New ways to increase Kinetic Tremors’ potency and synergy with builds are always coming. As always, we encourage you to take this perk a step further and make it your own! And just as Kinetic Tremors is a top-tier Kinetic perk, definitely check out Repulsor Brace, its Void counterpart.

All the info about enhanced kinetic tremors is wrong. There are 4 craftable weapons such as The Supremacy and others that can be improved since The Final Shape like Midnight Coup.
