Destiny 2 Judgment: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Mar 11, 2024

Hand Cannons have been the go-to for many players for ages, and with the buffs they received a few seasons ago, they have become one of the most consistent picks for both PvE and PvP. And that includes Judgment, the hot “new” weapon from the Prophecy dungeon.

How to get Judgment

With the recent update to Prophecy, players can obtain an updated version of Judgment, which comes with a new (and better) perk pool. Unfortunately, Judgment only drops after completing the Dungeon, meaning you’ll have to farm the final boss to get a drop.

Kell Echo is pretty easy to kill, provided you know the mechanics (which are very simple). The boss doesn’t have too much health, meaning that repeatedly farming the final encounter will be the most efficient method of getting Judgment. You can find the entire Prophecy loot table here.

How good is Judgment

Judgment is a 140RPM Hand Cannon, immediately making it a decent pick as the Adaptive archetype is better than its competition. However, when compared against some other options like Fatebringer, Warden’s Law, or Eyasluna, it doesn’t really compete at all.

Being in the Kinetic Slot, it forces players to either use a non-synergistic perk combo, or Headstone as the weapon is Stasis. This can make Judgment quite awkward to use for builds, all while it deals less natural damage than weapons like Fatebringer or Warden’s Law as they purely Kinetic.

Overall, Judgment is a pretty poor weapon. Players may get some mileage out of it in PvP with certain perks, but in PvE, there is little reason to ever use it unless you don’t have an alternative. We consider Judgment C-tier pick for PvE and B-ter for PvP.

Judgment Perks and God Rolls

The Judgment Hand Cannon can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Demolitionist, Encore, Enlightened Action, Headstone, Moving Target, and Slideshot
  • Perk 2: Adrenaline Junkie, Eye of the Storm, Multikill Clip, Opening Shot, Timed Payload, and Vorpal Weapon
  • Origin Trait: Crossing Over

Judgment PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Fastdraw HCS
  • Magazine: Accurised Rounds
  • Perk 1: Enlightened Action or Demolitionist
  • Perk 2: Timed Payload (also good: Adrenaline Junkie)
  • Masterwork: Range

Barrels and Magazines don’t matter too much in PvE. However, Accurised Rounds and a Range Masterwork both help with the lacklustre range of this weapon, meanwhile, Fastdraw HCS provides additional Handling and Stability.

Enlightened Action and Demolitionist are both good choices, with Demolitionist being more build-focused and Enlightened Action turning the weapon into more of a Kinetic workhorse. Timed Payload is good for staggering enemies and adds some artificial range to the weapon. Adrenaline Junkie is a weaker but acceptable alternative, and it also pairs well with Demolitionist

Judgment PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Hitmark HCS
  • Magazine: Accurised Rounds
  • Perk 1: Moving Target or Slideshot
  • Perk 2: Eye of the Storm (also good: Timed Payload)
  • Masterwork: Range or Stability

Players should look to improve the range of this weapon as much as possible so it can contend with Hand Cannons that have better stats a bit easier, meaning that Hitmark, Accurised, and a Range Masterwork is best; however, a Stability Masterwork is also acceptable.

Moving Target is great for duelling and hitting your shots, but Slideshot may be preferred by some because of the small magazine size of 9. Eye of the Storm is the best option in Perk 2 as it substantially helps your 1v1 potential with the weapon, but Timed Payload is always a solid pick thanks to its ability to flinch your opponent off their target.
