Gilded Precept Lost Sector Destiny 2: Loadouts & Guide

by | Jan 18, 2024

Gilded Precept is one the most difficult Lost Sectors in Destiny 2, making it one of the worst to farm for exotics, and should be avoided if possible.

While our Destiny 2 Lost Sector Today guide features every Legend and Master Lost Sector in the game, this mini-guide covers everything you need to know to prepare for the Gilded Precept Lost Sector, including recommended loadouts, Threats, and Champions.

Gilded Precept D2 Recommended loadout

Difficulty: ⛔️ Difficult Lost Sector to farm.

Gilded Precept features Unstoppable and Barrier Champions; therefore, we recommend a Solar or Strand loadout:

  • Kinetic Slot: Arbalest to deal with Anti-Barrier Champions and handle powerful enemies from a safe distance.
  • Enery Slot: A Solar Hand Cannon with Unstoppable Rounds, such as Epochal Integration or Zaouli’s Bane.
  • Heavy Slot: Apex Predator is the best rocket launcher to take advantage of the weekly Surge, but any Solar or Strand Heavy weapon will work.
  • Build: Solar or Strand

Subclasses and Exotics

Because of the weekly Surges, we suggest either a Solar or Strand build. Thankfully, there are several options for players to choose from, regardless of your class. Hunters can either use a Strand setup with Whirling Maelstrom and Cyrtarachne’s Facade for Woven Mail or opt for our Radiant Assassin build for excellent survivability.

Warlocks should either go for a Sunbracers build or a build with Mindspun Invocation and Necrotic Grips for excellent add clear.

Titans who enjoy Strand can either go for a Banner of War setup with Synthoceps or a Suspend-focused build with Abyeant Leap. Alternatively, you can go for our Undying Flame build if you prefer Solar.

Exotic armor (if solo) Rare Common

Needless to say, these aren’t easy, and the least you should do is ensure you have a reasonable Power Level. By reasonable, we mean no less than 10 Power Levels below the recommended levels. If you find yourself struggling, work on increasing your Power Level as much as possible and focus on Legend Lost Sectors.

Gilded Precept Destiny 2 Legend guide

Once you enter the first room, you will notice a few minor enemies and an Unstoppable Champion. Take care of a few minor enemies if you can, but make sure the Unstoppable Champion doesn’t become too problematic. A couple of Rockets here will put him down easily. Feel free to retreat into the tunnel or behind you, away from the Champion, to make things easier.

The second room is packed with adds, so I like to hang by the door and take care of enough minor enemies for the door opposite the entrance to open, spawning more mobs. Once enough enemies are defeated, two Gladiators will spawn. These enemies are tanky and deal considerable damage, so keep your distance and kill them with Arbalest.

Gilded Precept Lost Sector 3 Destiny 2

Once all the red-bar mobs are dead, all that should remain is the Barrier Champion and a few majors. Use the small pillars for cover, and take care of the Barrier Champion before killing the majors. Once both majors are defeated, you can deposit the cores into the pillars by the exit to open the way to the next room.

The penultimate room isn’t anything new. It contains more adds and an Unstoppable Champion. Again, stay by the door and peek out to kill a few minor enemies. Doing this will draw the Champion’s attention and cause him to rush you, making him an easy kill once stunned. The stairs to the final room will be guarded by a couple of minor enemies and a Centurion, so take care of them and head into the boss room.

Gilded Precept Lost Sector 4 Destiny 2

Once you enter the boss room, take care of the major Phalanxes first and use the small pillars near the entrance for cover from the boss. This cover will allow you to deal some good damage. If you can kill the boss fast enough, great, but if not, the boss will move to the back of the arena. Once you have killed enough enemies and damaged the boss, a couple of Gladiators will spawn and rush you, so pay attention to them. Stay safe and take the boss down with your Heavy and Arbalest for an easy kill. Once everything is dead, you can safely collect your loot!

Lost Sector Rewards

As a reminder, completing Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo is the only way to acquire several specific Exotic armor pieces. While our Lost Sector Exotics guide covers them all, including their rotation for the remainder of the season, these are all Lost Sector Exotics available today:

Gilded Precept Summary

Featuring an Arc Threat modifier, the Gilded Precept Lost Sector features Solar and Void-shielded enemies, as well as Unstoppable and Barrier Champions. Due to its length to complete and difficulty, this is one of the absolute worst Lost Sectors to farm.
