Thrilladrome Lost Sector Destiny 2: Loadouts & Guide

by | Jan 17, 2024

Thrilladrome is one the most difficult Lost Sectors in Destiny 2, making it one of the worst to farm for exotics, and should be avoided if possible.

While our Lost Sector Today guide features every Legend and Master Lost Sector in the game, this mini-guide covers everything you need to know to prepare for the Thrilladrome Lost Sector, including recommended loadouts, Threats, and Champions.

Thrilladrome D2 Recommended loadout

Difficulty: ⛔️ Difficult Lost Sector to farm.

Thrilladrome has Overload and Barrier Champions; therefore, we recommend a Solar or Strand loadout:

  • Kinetic Slot: Arbalest to deal with Anti-Barrier Champions and handle powerful enemies from a safe distance.
  • Enery Slot: Adhortative is our pick, but any Solar Pulse or Auto rifle will work, as you only need to deal with one Overload Champion.
  • Heavy Slot: Apex Predator is the best rocket launcher to take advantage of the weekly Surge, but any Solar or Strand Heavy weapon will work.
  • Build: Solar or Strand

Subclasses and Exotics

Due to the Solar and Strand Surge, we recommend either a Solar or Strand build. Hunters should run Celestial Nighthawk with a Restoration chaining setup, or they can go for our Threaded Maelstrom build if you prefer Strand.

Warlocks can either go for our Mindspun Suspender build to Suspend everything or a classic Sunbracers setup with Heat Rises and Touch of Flame.

Titans can opt for a setup with Banner of War and Synthoceps or our Overflowing Suspension build, which focuses on Suspending enemies. However, they can go for our Undying Flame Build with Synthoceps if they prefer Solar.

It’s important to note that players can Suspend Champions; this is particularly effective against Barrier Champions, as it effectively stuns them.

Recommended Power 1830 1840
Exotic armor (if solo) Rare Common

Needless to say, these aren’t easy, and the least you should do is ensure you have a reasonable Power Level. By reasonable, we mean no less than 10 Power Levels below the recommended levels. If you find yourself struggling, work on increasing your Power Level as much as possible and focus on Legend Lost Sectors.

Thrilladrome Lost Sector 1

Immediately as you spawn in the Lost Sector, a couple of ‘Circumstantial Controllers’ will be playing on an arcade machine. If you leave them be, a glowing enemy will spawn in the boss room that, when killed, will drop a Vex Core that players can use to kill enemies in the final room. However, doing this isn’t necessary, so feel free to kill them if you’d like.

Thrilladrome Lost Sector 2

As you enter the first proper room, use the large pillar on the left to take cover from the enemies on the high ground. Quickly kill as many Goblins as possible before taking on the Barrier Champion. Either nuking him with abilities or taking him down with Arbalest are the most effective ways to deal with it. Once clear, take out the Hydra and jump up top. A few Fanatics will spawn, but you should be able to handle these easily. Just keep your distance so you don’t get caught in the explosion.

While transitioning to the next room, you must clear out the enemies in the corridor. Take out the Goblins first, and then prepare to kill the Overload Champion. If you stay out of sight of the Champion, they should be standing by the stairs, making them an easy kill with every Goblin dead.

For the next room, hang by the doorway and kill the Barrier Champion as fast as possible by dumping Heavy ammo into it. Once it dies, clear the remaining enemies. If you’d rather take it slow and safe, kill the Goblins first and then handle the Champion. Head up the stairs once the room is clear, but be wary of the Hobgoblin at the top, as they can surprise you.

Thrilladrome Lost Sector 3

In the penultimate room, kill the Goblins as you slowly progress through the room. Once you have killed enough, an Overload Champion will spawn. This room is relatively small, so the Champion can close the gap quickly, but if you stun it and dump a few Arbalest shots and a Rocket into it, the Champion will die. Kill the Harpy to spawn the portal.

Thrilladrome Lost Sector 4

Once in the boss room, move to the right-hand side platforms while destroying the two Vex Cubes shielding the Cyclops. If you kept the Circumstantial Controllers alive, you can obtain a Vex Core by killing the Circumstantial Avatars. By rotating to the right, you can safely pick off each enemy in the room from a distance, but if you’d like to speed things up, feel free to close the gap.

Thrilladrome Lost Sector 5

Once you have cleared the right and middle areas, kill the Cyclops and move to the left to clear the remaining enemies to trigger the boss’s spawn. Nuke the boss as much as you can, but be careful, as waves of Harpies will spawn as you damage the boss.

Lost Sector Rewards

As a reminder, completing Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo is the only way to acquire several specific Exotic armor pieces. While our Lost Sector Exotics guide covers them all, including their rotation for the remainder of the season, these are all Lost Sector Exotics available today:

Thrilladrome Summary

Featuring a Void Threat modifier, the Thrilladrome Lost Sector features Arc and Void-shielded enemies, as well as Overload and Barrier Champions. Due to its length to complete and difficulty, this is one of the worst Lost Sectors to farm.
