[toc] You obviously want your Guardian to look great while being powerful enough to tackle the game’s tougher challenges. There’s a lot to take into account here, including your Exotic of choice, the build around it, and the way it all comes together to look good.
This all can seem daunting early on, but trust me, it’s pretty easy to get started. This guide will help every step of the way and help you choose an Exotic, find great-looking armor sets, and finally, put it all together to create some dope Titan fashion.
Best Titan Exotics
We reviewed and ranked every single Titan exotic here. But today, we focus only on the absolute best Exotics for PvE and PvP, and more precisely, the Exotics we consider to be S-tier. As you can only equip one Exotic at a time, your choice of what Exotic armor to use matters a lot. These are the top-tier Titan Exotics we recommend:
Name | Type | Rank | Excels | Subclass | Source | Requirements | Armor | Tier rank | Subclass? | Final Verdict | Class |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Heart of Inmost Light | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Heart of Inmost Light | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points." ► Perhaps the strongest titan exotic in the current sandbox, Heart of Inmost Light's exotic perk results in more powerful abilities more often which makes it almost uncontested in PVE and PVP. | Titan |
Dunemarchers | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Dunemarchers | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increases sprint speed. Sprinting builds up a static charge. After melee-attacking an enemy, that charge will chain damage to nearby enemies." ► Whilst the chain lightning created by Dunemarchers can be utilised in PVE, it is best used in PVP with the combination of the enhanced slide to make plays as the 85-damage chain can help win fights. | Titan |
Wormgod Caress | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Wormgod Caress | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Melee kills increase melee damage for a period of time. Additional kills extend duration and increase effects." ► Whilst taking more set-up compared to Synthoceps, the combination of damage stacking and Wormgod Caress can lead to some of the strongest builds in the game. | Titan |
Synthoceps | Arms | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Synthoceps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increased melee lunge range. Improved melee and Super damage when you're surrounded." ► Great in both PVE and PVP for melee-focused builds and general gameplay. The extra melee range is very strong in PVP and the damage increase can be used with other perks to one punch. | Titan |
Peacekeepers | Legs | S › Best | PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Peacekeepers | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Reloads stowed Submachine Guns and allows you to ready them instantly. Improves your handling with SMGs and your movement while wielding one." ► Peacekeepers grant numerous buffs to SMGs when equipped allowing for a far more aggressive playstyle inside PVP. | Titan |
One-Eyed Mask | Helm | S › Best | PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() One-Eyed Mask | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Highlights the enemy who dares to damage you. Track down and destroy your enemy for an overshield." ► A well-rounded exotic that excels in PVP and rewards kills allowing for you to easily go on streaks due to the overshield it generates. | Titan |
Loreley Splendor Helm | Helm | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Solar | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | ![]() Loreley Splendor Helm | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Solar | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "When you have Sun Warrior, your Sunspots heal you. When you are critically wounded, create a Sunspot at your location." ► Even after the nerf, Lorely is still one of the strongest builds for endgame content. With the right setup, you can be almost immortal. Check out the Top Titan Builds for an example. | Titan |
Star-Eater Scales | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Lost Sectors | Beyond Light | ![]() Star-Eater Scales | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Neutral | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "You gain additional Super energy from Orbs of Power you pick up. While your Super energy is full, picking up an Orb of Power overcharges your Super, causing you to gain a burst of healing when cast and a bonus to your Super damage. At maximum overcharge, you also gain an overshield." ► Star-Eater Scales is a beast. It focuses entirely on your super and can buff Hunters' supers to the highest DPS levels in the game. When using Star-Eater Scales, all subclasses get the highest DPS supers in the game, making Star-Eater Scales an excellent pick everywhere, no matter the difficulty. | Hunter |
Omnioculus | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Void | Lost Sectors | Beyond Light | ![]() Omnioculus | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Void | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "You gain a second Smoke Bomb charge and have damage resistance while invisible. When you make an ally invisible, they gain damage resistance while invisible and you gain melee energy." ► Omnioculus is a ridiculously strong exotic. Granting an extra smoke bomb charge and giving melee energy when you make allies invisible is already excellent. However, giving your team damage resistance on demand takes Omnioculus to another level in both PvP and PvE. | Hunter |
Assassin's Cowl | Helm | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Shadowkeep | ![]() Assassin's Cowl | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Powered melee final blows grant invisibility and restore a portion of health and shields. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the duration of the invisibility and the amount of health and shields." ► The Assassin's Cowl is the perfect Solo exotic. Both Gunslinger and Arcstrider can use this exotic brilliantly with the correct setup, allowing you to basically stay invisible forever. You can find a detailed build on how to synergize Radiant and Assassin's Cowl here. | Hunter |
St0mp-EE5 | Legs | S › Best | PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() St0mp-EE5 | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increases sprint speed and slide distance. Improves High Jump, Strafe Jump, and Triple Jump." ► St0mp-EE5, despite their airborne effectiveness nerf, remains a big favorite among PvP Hunter mains. The quality of life that Stompees provide and the ability to outmaneuver your opponents are rightfully valued highly and can take your movement to another level. | Hunter |
Renewal Grasps | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Stasis | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | ![]() Renewal Grasps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Stasis | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield take reduced damage and targets inside the area deal reduced damage." ► Renewal Grasps took a big (and deserved) nerf in PvP. Its damage resistance was reduced, and the cooldown was massively increased. Despite this, Renewal Grasps retained their PvE damage resist, making them an incredible option for players looking to be more defensive. We have a build using these on our Hunter Builds guide. | Hunter |
Caliban's Hand | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Solar | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | ![]() Caliban's Hand | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Solar | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your Proximity Knife scorches targets it damages with its explosions, or ignites targets on a direct hit. After throwing a Proximity Knife, you gain increased melee regeneration until the knife explodes." ► Caliban's Hand turns your Explosive Knives into Ignition proccing machines. Simply getting a kill with your Explosive knife will cause an Ignition. We have an excellent build using the Caliban's Hand here. Caliban's Hand can turn your knives into add clearing machines with the right setup. | Hunter |
Gyrfalcon's Hauberk | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Void | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | ![]() Gyrfalcon's Hauberk | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Void | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your weapons gain a bonus to damage briefly after you emerge from being invisible. When you are invisible and defeat a combatant using a finisher, you and your nearby allies gain a reserve overshield and improved class ability regen. These reserve overshields can be deployed by using a class ability." ► Gyrfalcon's Hauberk is still a beast. After its rework, many will argue that it is even more powerful now, as you can chain invisibility while constantly making enemies Volatile. | Hunter |
Young Ahamkara's Spine | Arms | S › Best | PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Young Ahamkara's Spine | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increases Tripmine Grenade duration and blast radius. Ability damage grants Tripmine Grenade energy." ► Young Ahamkara's Spine continues to be a fantastic pick for any Solar Hunter. These Exotic arms pack a serious punch and let you cause ignitions left and right. | Hunter |
Lunafaction Boots | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Lunafaction Boots | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Your Rifts gain the additional ability to increase weapon reload speeds. Empowering Rift makes weapons effective over longer ranges." ► Best used with Well of Radiance. This exotic is so good that it is difficult to find a raid group that doesn't have a member of their team wearing them. They work with Well of Radiance, which means you can place it down to grant your team healing, bonus weapon damage, and now max reload speed as well. | Warlock |
Ophidian Aspect | Arms | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Ophidian Aspect | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Weapons ready and reload very quickly. Melee range is extended." ► Ophidian Aspect sees most of its usage in PvP, but it's also not a bad option for PvE. The buffs they give are always active, and they're extremely noticeable, making them a great pick if you have nothing else to run. | Warlock |
Starfire Protocol | Chest | S › Best | PvE | Solar | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Starfire Protocol | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | ![]() Solar | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Fusion Grenades have an additional charge and recharge from empowered weapon damage. Fusion Grenade kills grant Rift energy." ► Best used with Well of Radiance and the Touch of Flame Aspect. Fusion grenades are extremely powerful at their base, but with Starfire Protocol and Touch of Flame, this becomes one of the best builds in the game right now. For a complete build to make this as potent as possible, check out our Top Warlock Builds guide. | Warlock |
Transversive Steps | Legs | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | ![]() Transversive Steps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Sprint speed increased. After a short time sprinting, your currently equipped weapon is automatically reloaded." ► The movement speed buff that Tranversive Steps gives is super potent, and the reload ability can be useful at times. If you are looking for a great neutral exotic to run in any activity, this exotic is one of the best options out there. | Warlock |
Osmiomancy Gloves | Arms | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Stasis | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | ![]() Osmiomancy Gloves | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | ![]() Stasis | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your Coldsnap grenades have an additional charge that recharges quicker on direct impact. The seeker spawned from Coldsnap grenades travels further." ► Best used with Bleak Watcher. Even though Coldsnap Grenades aren't currently very good, being able to have two stasis turrets at a time (using Bleak Watcher) makes this exotic an exceptional choice in harder PVE content. And with the ability to constantly freeze opponents in PVP, the Osmiomancy Gloves are one of the best picks in the game. | Warlock |
For the record, these are the different Tier levels used for this ranking:

Best Titan armor sets
Once you have found and Masterworked your Exotic of choice, you’ll want to combine it with some top-tier legendary armor pieces.
Looks are subjective, of course, but when it comes to the best-looking armor sets in Destiny 2, you’ll generally find them within endgame content (as it should be).
