You obviously want your Guardian to look great while being powerful enough to tackle the game’s tougher challenges. There’s a lot to take into account here, including your Exotic of choice, the build around it, and the way it all comes together to look good.
This all can seem daunting early on, but trust me, it’s pretty easy to get started. This guide will help every step of the way and help you choose an Exotic, find great-looking armor sets, and finally, put it all together to create some dope Titan fashion.
Best Titan Exotics
We reviewed and ranked every single Titan exotic here. But today, we focus only on the absolute best Exotics for PvE and PvP, and more precisely, the Exotics we consider to be S-tier. As you can only equip one Exotic at a time, your choice of what Exotic armor to use matters a lot. These are the top-tier Titan Exotics we recommend:
Name | Type | Rank | Excels | Subclass | Source | Requirements | Armor | Tier rank | Subclass? | Final Verdict | Class |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Dunemarchers | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Dunemarchers | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increases sprint speed. Sprinting builds up a static charge. After melee-attacking an enemy, that charge will chain damage to nearby enemies." ► Dunemarchers is the main Titan exotic for enhanced movement inside of PvP. It grants improved Sprint Speed and Slide Distance passively and also gives your melees the ability to chain light to other enemies, provided you have been sprinting for 1.5 seconds. | Titan |
Synthoceps | Arms | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Synthoceps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increased melee lunge range. Improved melee and Super damage when you're surrounded." ► Great in both PVE and PVP for melee-focused builds and general gameplay. The extra melee range is very strong in PVP and the damage increase can be used with other perks to one punch. There are a number of excellent PvE builds that include this exotic. | Titan |
Heart of Inmost Light | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Forsaken Pack | Heart of Inmost Light | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Using an ability (grenade, melee, or Barricade) empowers the other two abilities. Empowered means abilities have faster regen, melees and grenades do more damage, and Barricades have more hit points." ► Heart of Inmost Light has been through the balancing wringer, but it has come through still strong. The ability regeneration from this exotic is still something that you can't ignore, and it still outclasses practically all of the competition. | Titan |
Peacekeepers | Legs | S › Best | PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Peacekeepers | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvP | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Reloads stowed Submachine Guns and allows you to ready them instantly. Improves your handling with SMGs and your movement while wielding one." ► Peacekeepers grant numerous buffs to SMGs when equipped allowing for a far more aggressive playstyle inside PVP. | Titan |
Stronghold | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Forsaken Pack | Stronghold | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Maximizes guard stats on equipped Swords. You take reduced damage while blocking with a Sword. Rapidly damaging targets after blocking shots with a Sword grants restoration for a duration determined by the number of shots blocked." ► Stronghold is the exotic for Sword aficionados. With this exotic now granting Restoration and massive damage reduction while blocking, it's hard not to recommend these Gauntlets if you are planning on using a sword in endgame content. The only thing that holds this exotic back is the current state of Swords. | Titan |
Loreley Splendor Helm | Helm | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Solar | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | Loreley Splendor Helm | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Solar | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "When you have Sun Warrior, your Sunspots heal you. When you are critically wounded, create a Sunspot at your location." ► Even after the nerf, Lorely is still one of the strongest builds for endgame content. With the right setup, you can be almost immortal. Check out the Top Titan Builds for an example. | Titan |
Pyrogale Gauntlets | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Solar | Lost Sectors | Season 22 | Pyrogale Gauntlets | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Solar | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Modifies Burning Maul into a single high-damage slam of your hammer that creates five cyclones of flame. Consecration's second slam creates a cyclone of flame." ► Pyrogale Gauntlets are the new DPS option for Titans. Being one of the few Super-modifying exotics that grant an additional effect, Pyrogale has a natural advantage over the competition. Burning Maul, in particular, does incredible damage with these Gauntlets equipped. | Titan |
Star-Eater Scales | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Lost Sectors | Beyond Light | Star-Eater Scales | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "You gain additional Super energy from Orbs of Power you pick up. While your Super energy is full, picking up an Orb of Power overcharges your Super, causing you to gain a burst of healing when cast and a bonus to your Super damage. At maximum overcharge, you also gain an overshield." ► Star-Eater Scales is a beast. It focuses entirely on your super and can buff Hunters' supers to the highest DPS levels in the game. When using Star-Eater Scales, all subclasses get the highest DPS supers in the game, making Star-Eater Scales an excellent pick everywhere, no matter the difficulty. | Hunter |
Omnioculus | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Void | Lost Sectors | Beyond Light | Omnioculus | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Void | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "You gain a second Smoke Bomb charge and have damage resistance while invisible. When you make an ally invisible, they gain damage resistance while invisible and you gain melee energy." ► Omnioculus is a ridiculously strong exotic. Granting an extra smoke bomb charge and giving melee energy when you make allies invisible is already excellent. However, giving your team damage resistance on demand takes Omnioculus to another level in both PvP and PvE. | Hunter |
Assassin's Cowl | Helm | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Shadowkeep | Assassin's Cowl | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Powered melee final blows grant invisibility and restore a portion of health and shields. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the duration of the invisibility and the amount of health and shields." ► Assassin's Cowl is a ridiculously powerful pick for Hunters right now. A key staple in a number of powerful Hunter builds, Assassin's Cowl has the ability to turn you invisible while also granting plenty of health on a melee kill. | Hunter |
Lucky Pants | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Lucky Pants | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "When you ready a fully loaded Hand Cannon that deals kinetic damage or a damage type that matches your subclass energy type, each hit from that Hand Cannon increases the damage of the next shot for a short time against a combatant. Hand Cannons ready faster and are more accurate immediately after swapping to them." ► Lucky Pants are pretty insane right now. When combined with Malfeasance or the recently reworked Warden's Law, they can result in remarkably high DPS outputs. When using Warden's Law, you can easily pair it with support weapons such as Gjallarhorn or Tractor Cannon with a Fusion Rifle to still pump out some excellent DPS. | Hunter |
Renewal Grasps | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Stasis | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | Renewal Grasps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Stasis | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your Duskfield grenades have a much larger effect radius. Allies inside the Duskfield take reduced damage and targets inside the area deal reduced damage." ► Renewal Grasps saw their absurdly long cooldown reduced back to standard levels, which results is a monstrous buff. While Stasis may not be in the best of spots these days, Renewal makes Revenant Hunter actually viable which is a testament to how strong these gloves actually are. | Hunter |
Gyrfalcon's Hauberk | Chest | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Void | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | Gyrfalcon's Hauberk | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Void | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your weapons gain a bonus to damage briefly after you emerge from being invisible. When you are invisible and defeat a combatant using a finisher, you and your nearby allies gain a reserve overshield and improved class ability regen. These reserve overshields can be deployed by using a class ability." ► Gyrfalcon's Hauberk is still arguably one of the strongest exotics in the entire game. It's practically an entire build all by itself and can turn any Nightstalker setup into an ad-clearing machine. | Hunter |
Felwinter's Helm | Helm | S › Best | PvE + PvP | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Shadowkeep | Felwinter's Helm | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE + PvP | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Powered melee final blows create a burst of energy that weakens nearby targets. Finishers and final blows against more powerful targets increase the radius of the burst and the length of the weakening effect." ► Assuming you have some status effect or ability to protect yourself with, Felwinter's Helm provides a whopping 30% debuff to surrounding enemies with little downside. It can be unsafe to use in higher-level content, but the risk may be worth the reward; the potency of Felwinter's debuff is nearly unmatched and can crowd control like nothing else. | Warlock |
Karnstein Armlets | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Karnstein Armlets | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Melee kills instantly restore a large amount of health and continue to restore health afterwards for a short duration." ► Best used with projectile melees. Karnstein Armlets are extremely good for any solo PVE content and are even good in PVP. While it's incredible with any subclass or melee you choose, projectile melees are the best option because they make the exotic perk safer and easier to trigger. | Warlock |
Sunbracers | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Solar | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Sunbracers | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Solar | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Increases the duration of Solar Grenades. Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time." ► Best used with Touch of Flame and Heat Rises. Giving you tons of grenades, Sunbracers provides great ad clear. Plus, it has great synergy with Dawnblade's Aspects and Fragments, making it a great option for any low-mid level PVE activity. For a full build, check out our Top Warlock Builds guide! | Warlock |
Transversive Steps | Legs | S › Best | PvE | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Transversive Steps | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Sprint speed increased. After a short time sprinting, your currently equipped weapon is automatically reloaded." ► The movement speed buff that Tranversive Steps gives is super potent, and the reload ability can be useful at times. If you are looking for a great neutral exotic to run in any activity, this exotic is one of the best options out there. | Warlock |
Vesper of Radius | Chest | S › Best | - | Neutral | Exotic Engrams | Free-to-Play | Vesper of Radius | Best ❘ S | Neutral | Source: Exotic Engrams Exotic Perk: "Rifts periodically release Arc shockwaves. Final blows with these shockwaves create an Arc explosion. While an Arc subclass is equipped, the shockwaves and subsequent explosions blind nearby targets. Rift energy recharges faster when you are surrounded by targets." ► Vesper of Radius now competes with Fallen Sunstar for the best Stormcaller exotic out there. The ability to both blind and damage all enemies within a considerable radius of your rift is extremely powerful in PvE, and it synergizes perfectly with Stormcaller's already strong aspects and fragments. | Warlock |
Osmiomancy Gloves | Arms | S › Best | PvE | Stasis | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | Osmiomancy Gloves | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Stasis | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Your Coldsnap grenades have an additional charge that recharges quicker on direct impact. The seeker spawned from Coldsnap grenades travels further." ► Best used with Bleak Watcher. Even though Coldsnap Grenades aren't currently very good, being able to have two stasis turrets at a time (using Bleak Watcher) makes this exotic an exceptional choice in harder PVE content. And with the ability to constantly freeze opponents in PVP, the Osmiomancy Gloves are one of the best picks in the game. | Warlock |
Fallen Sunstar | Helm | S › Best | PvE | Arc | Lost Sectors | The Witch Queen | Fallen Sunstar | Best ❘ S Excels in: PvE | Arc | Source: Legend/Master Lost Sectors Exotic Perk: "Ionic traces you create move faster and grant you additional ability energy. Nearby allies also gain ability energy when you collect an ionic trace." ► Ever since Fallen Sunstar debuted in Season 18, there has been debate over whether it or Crown of Tempests is better. While it's partially a personal preference, we prefer Fallen Sunstar for its ability to buff nearby allies. Pair this with Arc Soul to help teammates even further or Electrostatic Mind to get a more consistent gameplay loop. | Warlock |
