Best Destiny 2 Celestial Nighthawk Build (and How to get it)

by | Dec 8, 2023

Celestial Nighthawk is one of the handful of Exotics that received significant buffs with the release of Season of the Wish (S23). The updates always looked good on paper, but now that we’ve got our hands on it, we can confidently say that Celestial Nighthawk is now top-tier.

Today, we’ll go through acquiring this Warlock Exotic and put together one of the best Hunter builds in D2.

How to get the Celestial Nighthawk Exotic

As an Exotic from Year 1 of Destiny 2, Celestial Nighthawk can be acquired as a random Exotic drop, when farming Legend or Master Lost Sectors, completing Vex Strike Force events or when buying Fated engrams from Xûr.

Best Celestial Nighthawk Build Right Now

This build focuses on quick Super regeneration and high burst damage with Celestial Knighthawk. It only requires:

  • Solar Hand Cannon (Zaouli’s Bane, Igneous Hammer, and Sunshot are perfect for this).

This build requires you to use the Solar subclass and the following abilities:

  • Healing Grenade
  • Knife Trick
  • Acrobat’s Dodge
  • Golden Gun – Marksman

☑️ Aspects: Knock Em’ Down and On Your Mark.

☑️ Fragments: Ember of Wonder, Ember of Mercy, Ember of Combustion, Ember of Searing, Ember of Beams.

🦾 For Stats, you should prioritize the highest possible Intellect and Resistance, then Recovery and Discipline.

⚙️Artifact perks: Kindling Trigger, Flint Striker, Heart of the Flame, Rays of Precision

  • Chest: Resistance Mods, Reserve Mods
  • Legs: Scavenger Mod, Surge Mod
  • Bond: Powerful Attraction, Bomber

Strategy & Gameplay Loop:

Celestial Nighthawk now grants extra Super energy from precision kills and Ember of Wonder grants orbs from ignitions, which we get from Rays of Precision. Now all you need to do is follow these steps:

1️⃣ Use your dodge, melee, or get rapid Solar kills or precision hits to get Radiant.

2️⃣ Land precision kills on targets to ignite them and those around them to spawn an orb. Repeat until you have Super.

3️⃣ Activate your Super, land the precision hit, and watch as it ignites and returns a great deal of Super energy along with some orbs.

Before you go…
