Rose has been a mainstay in the Crucible for some time, and its final version takes it to the next level. A must-have Hand Cannon for PvP, this god roll is just exceptional. Serviceable in PvE with the right perks, but better options out there in the meta.

How good is Rose
PvP is where Rose shines, coming in with a fantastic selection of perks to use in the Crucible. It can be built to excel in every situation and game mode. Pushing Range to its limit in a variety of ways and using Slideshot or Keep Away, and pairing it with damage perks or hard-hitters like Explosive Payload, shows Rose’s versatility on the battlefield to suit aggressive or passive playstyles.
The PvE side is overshadowed by just as many better options in the field. It doesn’t have a bad set of perks, actually, far from it, but it just doesn’t hang in the current meta. That said, it’s not expected to, as Rose is a PvP reward; its best work should be in the arena, testing its mettle against other weapons and Guardians. Rose is C-Tier for PvE and S-Tier for PvP.

Rose PvE god roll
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
| Magazine | Tactical Mag |
| Perk 1 | Firefly |
| Perk 2 | Explosive Payload |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Grip | Smooth or Polymer |
Rose just doesn’t fit into the current meta with both its perks and Lightweight Frame. However, this is still a great feeling weapon to use, so if you insist on using it for PvE, there are no drawbacks with its god roll setup.
Fluted Barrel adds Handling to help keep Rose feeling light and snappy in the flow of battle. Tactical Mag adds more rounds to the Magazine and adds stability to help keep follow-up shots on target with ease.
Firefly kicks in after precision kills, causing an explosion that can easily vaporize a group of lower-tier mobs. It also pushes the Reload Speed to hit maximum, ensuring a fast turnaround when refreshing the magazine. Explosive Payload finalizes this roll with its extra explosive damage on each blast; it can also stagger certain enemy types, making them easier to clear out.
Rose PvP god roll
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Hammer-Forged Rifling |
| Magazine | Accurized Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Slideshot (also good: Keep Away, Moving Target) |
| Perk 2 | Precision Instrument (also good: Explosive Payload, Opening Shot) |
| Masterwork | Range |
| Grip | Smooth or Polymer |
Focusing on Range and topping off with an easily accessible damage perk, Rose will cause havoc across the Crucible.
With Range in mind, Hammer-Forged Rifling and Accurized Rounds start with an immediate +20, and the Range Masterwork added in boosts it by another +10. This is a key element of any Hand Cannon, to ensure its effectiveness remains consistent during any gunfight.
The first perk goes to Slideshot; sliding adds a bonus to Range, which maxes it out, Stability, and can also partially refill the Magazine. Precision Instrument then finishes this off with its stacking damage bonus for every successful hit. Culminating in a maximum buff of 30% on precision hits at 6 stacks.
If you prefer to stay grounded, Moving Target is a solid alternative and will help edge out duels with its extra mobility; Smooth or Polymer grip is a solid choice for an added stat boost.
