As part of Rite of the Nine, Ghosts of the Deep weapons have been refreshed with updated perk pools, with Greasy Luck unfortunately drawing the short stick in PvP. However, with access to enhancement, it packs quite a punch in PvE. This is everything you need to know about this rapid-fire Solar glaive.

How good is Greasy Luck
Glaives, in general, are extremely niche. Their hybrid combat style means that neither the shots nor the melee are particularly stronger than the other options out there, so most players tend to min-max towards one or the other. However, as the melee combo recently got buffed to do double damage on the final hit, we can focus more on the shot, and thankfully, we have more than enough perks to do that with. Incandescent is a good all-around perk, especially if you focus into scorch, but Redirection is the go-to. While it normally does 33% damage per charged shot, enhancing it bumps that to a whopping 50%, and you use one less stack, meaning you get 15 buffed shots instead of 10! Just make sure to pick your shots wisely.
In PvP, glaives are entirely hit or miss, both literally and metaphorically. They are even more niche than in PvE, and since recent changes, their shots don’t register as consistently. To make matters worse, Disruption Break, Impulse Amplifier, and Opening Shot were all removed, making this far worse than things like Backfang or Forthcoming Deviance. Greasy Luck is A-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Greasy Luck PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Auxiliary Reserves |
| Magazine | Appended Mag |
| Perk 1 | Lead from Gold or Replenishing Aegis |
| Perk 2 | Incandescent or Redirection (also good: Close to Melee) |
| Masterwork | Shield Duration |
| Origin Trait | Gravity Well |
Rapid-Fire glaives suffer from low damage per shot and shield duration at the benefit of much better handling, reload speed, and ammo. So to help it out, we’ll go with Auxiliary Reserves and Appended Mag. Auxiliary knocks our reload down a bit, but it’s not really an issue with the perks we are using, and Appended Mag gives us an extra shot with no downsides.
Perk 1 is either Lead from Gold or Replenishing Aegis. Lead from Gold is an overall great utility perk, allowing you to focus on just Heavy ammo finders, and Replenishing Aegis remains the undefeated reload perk for glaives. Reconstruction would be here, but given it takes 6 seconds of not firing the weapon to activate, it’s not worth it. For Perk 2, Incandescent or Redirection are both very good choices depending on the difficulty. Redirection is a boon in under-light content where your damage is heavily reduced, and Incandescent can sweep through waves of minors and majors in most other areas. Close to Melee gets an honorable mention as it is perfect for those wanting to lean into the combos.
