Destiny 2 Albedo Wing: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Dec 12, 2023

Bungie has consistently released a new weapon with each seasonal event recently, and The Dawning 2023 is no exception. This time, it’s Albedo Wing, an Arc aggressive frame glaive.

Glaives are currently hit-and-miss with the current meta—while some seem to excel with various builds, others have been promptly sent into obscurity. So, with that said, will Albedo Wing stick the landing? Or will it instead quickly be forgotten by the community for more potent picks? Let’s take a look.

How to get the Albedo Wing

Albedo Wing is one of multiple holiday weapons, meaning it drops from all things Dawning. However, be aware that the weapon is only available during The Dawning event, so you’d best act fast if it’s a weapon you want.

More specifically, Albedo Wing drops from the Dawning Event Challenges, weapon focusing available via Eva Levante, and Festive Engrams. Realistically, you’ll get all the materials to use these sources by playing the game during the event, so think of this as a passive grind. We cover all Dawning recipes and rewards here.

How good is Albedo Wing

Glaives are in an awfully weird spot right now. While some builds work perfectly with their close-quarters combat style, others function better with reliable picks like wave frame grenade launchers.

Albedo Wing does contain a perk that other glaives lack: Beacon Rounds. New with Season of the Wish (and otherwise exclusive to rocket-assisted sidearms), this perk allows your projectiles to track—something extremely potent in all areas of the game.

Realistically, Albedo Wing will fall into the same category as all current glaives: it’ll be a solid utility pick for PvE while being a niche but powerful option in The Crucible. However, we think that Albedo Wing will be slightly more popular than its competition simply because of the addition of new and potent perks to its already unique aggressive frame.

As a result, we’re placing Albedo Wing in S-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

Albedo Wing Perks and God Rolls

The Albedo Wing glaive can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Grave Robber, Beacon Rounds, Replenishing Aegis, Immovable Object, Keep Away, Clown Cartridge, Field Prep
  • Perk 2: Golden Tricorn, Demolitionist, Lead from Gold, Deconstruct, Attrition Orbs, High-Impact Reserves, Close to Melee

Albedo Wing PvE god roll

  • Haft: Supercooled Accelerator or Lightweight Emitter
  • Magazine: Light Mag
  • Perk 1: Grave Robber (also good: Beacon Rounds)
  • Perk 2: Demolitionist (also good: Close to Melee)
  • Masterwork: Range or Reload Speed

Albedo Wing has a ton going for it in PvE, and what you choose to run entirely depends on the context in which you’re using the weapon.

Range and reload speed are the two most noticeable stats for PvE, so our haft, magazine, and masterwork picks work to optimize that. The perk combination most players will be looking for is Grave Robber and Demolitionist; Grave Robber synergizes perfectly with glaive functionality, while Demolitionist is an outstanding utility pick for any build or setup.

Great alternatives to these choices are Beacon Rounds and Close to Melee. Beacon Rounds is currently exclusive to this glaive, making the choice irreplaceable if that’s what you’re looking for. Close to Melee is also potent to increase damage instead of gaining grenade energy.

  • Haft: Supercooled Accelerator
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds (also good: Light Mag)
  • Perk 1: Beacon Rounds
  • Perk 2: Close to Melee
  • Masterwork: Range

Albedo Wing is also a potent choice for The Crucible, even though glaives aren’t the strongest right now.

Our haft, magazine, and masterwork selections will be focused entirely on range; however, if you can’t stand the slow reload speed the combo provides, we recommend swapping Accurized Rounds to Light Mag.

Our main perk selections will start with Beacon Rounds. The first glaive to ever roll with a perk like this, the tracking from Beacon Rounds makes Albedo Wing significantly easier to wield efficiently.

For the second perk, you’ll want to look toward Close to Melee. The damage buff the trait provides is substantial, allowing the swap between melee and projectile combat to be as fluid as possible.
