Destiny 2 Skimmer: How to get the new Hoverboard

Guardian Games 2024 is finally here, and on top of the usual new weapons and armor sets, it’s bringing something no one expected: The Skimmer, a brand-new Exotic vehicle type!

Destiny 2’s Hoverboard: The Allstar Vector

After 10 full years of Destiny, this is the first time Bungie has released a new vehicle type. That alone is a reason for excitement. But to top it all off, Bungie is giving away the Allstar Vector for free to all Guardians that participate in this year’s Guardian Games:

The new Skimmer is called the Allstar Vector and will be available for everyone to earn during Guardian Games All-Stars. Just pick it up from Eva Levante after completing the onboarding mission quest.

Destiny 2: How to get the Skimmer

Getting the Skimmer, and more importantly, keeping it forever, is straightforward. All you’ll need to do is the following.

“Best In Class” Guardian Games quest, Destiny 2

1. Complete the introductory “Best In Class” quest from Eva Levante

This quest is quick and easy to complete. It involves:

• Getting your themed Class Item from Eva Levante
• Earning a Medallion by completing an activity from any of the Guardian Games playlists
• Depositing the Medallion at the Guardian Games podium in the Tower Courtyard
• Claiming your first Event Challenge from your Quest tab
• Speaking with Zavala and then Shaxx in the Tower

Completing the “Best In Class” quest will give you to limited-time Skimmer and access to the “Drop In” quest.

2. Complete the “Drop In” quest from Eva Levante

The Drop In quest, which permanently rewards the Allstar Vector skimmer, has only one step to complete. 

• Complete ANY of the following objectives:
  • A 1,200 Medallion Score
  • Earn a top 10% score in Nightfall challenges
  • Open your Focus Activity winners packages

Completing the “Drop In” quest will allow you to keep the skimmer permanently, even after the event is finished!

How to get the Skimmer, Destiny 2

The 1,200 Medallion score will be, by far, the longest. If you’re good at PvE, reaching a Top 10% Nightfall score should be manageable. If not, I recommend focusing on the Focus activities. 

Destiny 2’s Skimmer: Skateboard meets Hoverboard

While simply riding the Skimmer looks awesome, it can actually do things no other sparrow can: tricks and grind rails!

Guardians, we couldn’t be more excited to introduce a totally brand-new Exotic vehicle category for Destiny 2. Skimmers will live in the same slot as your Sparrows and can be used to do tricks, grind rails, or just stylishly skim around looking incredibly cool.
