Shards of Galanor is one of the handful of Exotics that received significant buffs with the release of Season of the Wish (S23). The updates always looked good on paper, but now that we’ve got our hands on it, we can confidently say that Shards of Galanor is now a top-tier Exotic.
Today, we’ll go through acquiring this Hunter Exotic and put together one of the best Hunter builds in Destiny 2.
How to get the Shards of Galanor Exotic
As an Exotic from Year 1 of Destiny 2, Shards of Galanor can be acquired as a random Exotic drop. The best and most efficient farming methods are:
- Legend Lost Sectors during Arms days
- Vex Strike Force events (as they work on a knockout system)

The buff Shards of Galanor received with Season of Wish (S23) is the following:
Throwing Knife kills now grant Super energy ranging between +2.5% and +5%, depending on the type of combatant killed.

This build requires you to use the Solar subclass and the following abilities:
- Acrobat’s Dodge (Marksman’s Dodge if using Flint Striker)
- Throwing Knife of choice
- Healing Grenade
☑️ Aspects: Knock Em’ Down and On Your Mark.
☑️ Fragments: Ember of Wonder, Ember of Mercy, Ember of Empyrean, Ember of Searing, Ember of Beams.
🦾 For Stats, you should prioritize the highest possible Intellect and Resistance, then Recovery and Strength.
⚙️Artifact perks: Kindling Trigger, Flint Striker, Heart of the Flame, Rays of Precision, Torch.

Strategy & Gameplay Loop:
Shards of Galanor now reduces your Super cooldown through Throwing Knife kills in addition to refunding some Super after landing hits with it. The strategy, therefore, is simple:
1️⃣ Use your dodge, melee, or get rapid Solar kills or precision hits to become Radiant.
2️⃣ Get melee kills to get super from Hands On and Shards, and an orb from Heavy Handed. Precision Kills while radiant will ignite targets for an extra orb.
3️⃣ Activate your Super, land the hits, and watch as you get up to 50% of your super back.
