Destiny 2 Submission: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Feb 18, 2024

SMGs have always been a fan favourite weapon type, thanks to their strength and ease of use, and Submission follows this theme. Not only is Submission excellent to use, but it can also be farmed easily, making it quite accessible.

In this article, we will show you how to obtain Submission, the best perk combinations, and how good it is in the current meta.

How to get Submission

You’ll have to enter the Vow of the Disciple Raid to obtain Submission. Found in Savathun’s Throne World, this Raid has four encounters, and Submission is available from the first 3: Acquisition, Caretaker, and Exhibition. Submission can also be purchased from the Raid cache upon defeating Rhulk (if already previously obtained), granting one red border per week for 20 Spoils of Conquest.

While players can simply run the raid repeatedly, choosing one of the 3 Submission encounters to farm is more efficient. This ensures that you at least have a chance to get one drop, and you can simply clear the encounter over and over. All three encounters work. Experienced groups may prefer Caretaker, but Exhibition can be completed quickly, too. We cover the entire Vow of the Disciple loot table here.

How good is Submission

Submission is a solid option in both PvE and PvP. While it doesn’t claim the top spot in either, it will serve you well and might be the preferred option for some players thanks to the weapon’s incredible feel and scope.

Lightweight Frame SMGs are favored by many players thanks to their incredible Handling and the small move speed bonus provided when the weapon is drawn, making Submission a great dueling weapon and a gun that can handle itself nicely.

The most obvious competition in the Kinetic slot for Submission is the Multimach CCX, as this is another Lightweight 900 RPM SMG. While Multimach has better perks, players may again prefer the feel of Submission and accept the lesser perks for that reason.

Overall, Submission is B-Tier (Average) for PvE and A-Tier (Strong) for PvP.

Submission Perks and God Rolls

The Submission SMG can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Overflow, Turnabout, Subsistence, Steady Hands, Sleight of Hand, Perpetual Motion, and Encore
  • Perk 2: Frenzy, Killing Wind, Thresh, Bait and Switch, Demolitionist, Swashbuckler, and Harmony

  • Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Subsistence
  • Perk 2: Frenzy or Demolitionist
  • Masterwork: Range

Being a Kinetic Primary ammo weapon, Submission naturally falls into the more ‘workhorse’ weapon type. With Subsistence and Frenzy, Submission feels excellent to use and lets you go through minor enemies like no tomorrow. Still, Demolitionist can be utilized if you want to incorporate more grenades into your play.

In terms of stats, simply look for barrels and magazines that improve your Range, as stats don’t mean too much in PvE, but having more Range is always helpful, especially in higher-level content.

  • Barrel: Full Bore
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk 1: Perpetual Motion or Encore
  • Perk 2: Killing Wind
  • Masterwork: Range

As you can tell from the perks, Range is the name of the game on this weapon. Perpetual Motion (or Encore) and Killing Wind combined let you go on incredible killing sprees. With the natural feel of the gun being excellent, Submission quickly becomes one of the easiest SMGs to use.

Full Bore, Accurized Rounds, and a Range Masterwork allow you to stack your Range up to a whopping 64. With Killing Wind and Encore x2 active (a single precision kill), you can have 94 Range, letting this SMG contest ranges you wouldn’t expect with fall-off starting at around 24 meters.
