Destiny 2 Regnant: God Rolls and How to get it

by | Oct 31, 2023

Regnant is a Legendary Heavy Grenade Launcher that drops from Season of Defiance activities. It currently comes in as one of the most popular Heavy Grenade Launchers today, and for good reason.

Today, we’ll share the best ways to obtain multiple rolls of the weapon and the best perks you want to hunt down.

How to get Regnant this season

Regnant is one of several seasonal weapons that drop from Defiant Battleground chests or Defiant Engrams. As of writing, after you get your hands on your first drop, additional random rolls can actually be acquired from your Collections tab at the cost of Glimmer, Legendary Shards, and Enhancement Cores. This was not intentional on Bungie’s part, and it is unclear how long this will remain available.

Regnant is also appreciated for essentially being a craftable alternative to the very popular Wendigo GL3 grenade launcher. To craft Regnant, you will need to secure five Deepsight rolls.

How good is Regnant today

Since Regnant is craftable, it gives us access to enhanced perks, which opens up the possibility to create more Explosive Light rounds and deal more damage than other Adaptive Frame Heavy Grenade Launchers. With the changes to build crafting in Season 20, there are numerous opportunities to generate Orbs of Power for you and your teammates in endgame content, making Explosive Light the perk you want to find.

Regnant is also a Void weapon, which allows it to generate Volatile Rounds, opening up the opportunity to bump up your weapon damage output with this weapon significantly.

Regnant is a must-have and can be considered S Tier for PvE, especially for endgame content.

Regnant PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Volatile Launch
  • Magazine: Spike Grenades
  • Perk 1: Auto-Loading Holster
  • Perk 2: Explosive Light
  • Masterwork: Handling

For our barrel, we want Volatile Launch. This barrel will greatly increase our blast radius and allows us to spread Volatile Rounds and overall damage to more enemies simultaneously. This is perfect for clearing groups of enemies and breaking Void shields. For our magazine, we want Spike Grenades to increase direct hit damage and stability.

In column 3, you want Auto-Loading Holster. This will ensure your Regnant is ready to go when you need to clear enemies in a pinch. This will pair nicely with a Handling Masterwork. In column 4, you’ll want the star of the show, Explosive Light. This allows you to massively increase the damage output of Regnant by 25% when you pick up Orbs of Power and use them to generate stacks of Explosive Light.

Regnant PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Volatile Launch
  • Magazine: High Explosive Ordnance
  • Perk 1: Rangefinder
  • Perk 2: Unrelenting
  • Masterwork: Blast Radius

Since heavy ammo is rare in The Crucible, and we don’t want it to go to waste, we will focus on bumping the weapon’s blast radius. For the barrel, you want Volatile Launch to greatly increase the blast radius. In column 2, we want High-Explosive Ordnance to increase our blast radius even further.

In the third column, we want Rangefinder to increase our range and projectile velocity. In the final column, we want Unrelenting, as defeating Guardians will activate health regeneration.

Regnant: Is it worth farming?

Regnant is one of the best Legendary Grenade Launchers this season. Couple Explosive Light with the Season 20 changes, allowing more options for orb generation than ever, and you get a weapon that is highly effective in some of the most challenging PvE activities.

Given that Regnant is craftable and that there are upcoming changes allowing players to apply Deepsight to their weapons, it is definitely a good time to stock up on rolls, even if they aren’t the god rolls recommended here. There’s a good chance you already have a dozen or so Defiant Engrams waiting for you at the H.E.L.M. that could be holding your elusive god roll.
