A new dungeon means new loot, and Warlord’s Ruin is not lacking in that department. While the talk of the town might be the new rocket-powered Sidearm, there’s a new Strand Precision Bow that’s sure to become a meta pick in due time: Vengeful Whisper.
With a small but powerful perk pool and stats to match, it might be what we’ve wanted this whole time. So today, let’s run through how to get it, where it sits in the meta, and the PvE and PvP god rolls.

How to get Vengeful Whisper
This lovely new bow is an exclusive Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon drop, available to those who own the Lightfall Deluxe Edition, or the Warlord’s Ruin Dungeon Key. In theory, it can only drop from the first and second encounters, but if it is your first run of the week, it has a chance to drop as an extra reward at the end.
Furthermore, once you have acquired it, Vengeful Whisper can also drop from the secret chests found between the encounters. There is no crafting for this weapon, nor is there an end chest to focus one.

How good is Vengeful Whisper
In PvE, Precision Bows have long been the favorite of most players. They have excellent range and damage per shot, making them go-to’s for higher-end content where using your range advantage is key to survival. Vengeful Whisper is no different. While it might lack the extra bonus Kinetic weapons get, the synergy possibilities, mixed with an exclusive perk combo, means Vengeful will have a place among the best.
On the PvP side of things, bows are still a meta pick for anything. Either used by themselves or in a swap combo, bows have long been the (arguably annoying) counter to most long-range threats. But what makes a bow good is the accuracy stat, and Vengeful Whisper has plenty, beating out most others with the right roll. And that same exclusive perk combo for PvE is just as lethal in PvP. More on that later.
Overall, Vengeful Whisper is an S-Tier pick in PvE and A-Tier in PvP.

Vengeful Whisper Perks and God Rolls
The Vengeful Whisper can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Hipfire Grip, Archer’s Tempo, Explosive Head, Keep Away, Enlightened Action, Slice
- Perk 2: Successful Warmup, Offhand Strike, Hatchling, Collective Action, Precision Instrument, High Ground
Vengeful Whisper PvE god roll
- Bowstring: Elastic String
- Arrow: Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
- Perk 1: Explosive Head or Archer’s Tempo
- Perk 2: Precision Instrument or Successful Warmup
- Masterwork: Draw Time
Like most Precision Bows, Vengeful suffers from a rather long draw time to the benefit of higher damage. We can remedy this by using Elastic String, which cuts down the draw time by 72 ms at the expense of accuracy. To offset the accuracy loss, use Fiberglass Arrow Shaft, which will not only negate the loss but will actually add +5 to the stat in the end. If accuracy loss isn’t a big deal for you, go with Compact Arrow Shaft for faster reloads.
The perks are where this weapon gets spicy. While Column 3 has the usual Archer’s Tempo and Hipfire Grip, it also has Explosive Head. Why is this important? Typically, damage-boosting perks are reserved for Column 4, meaning Vengeful can have two damage perks at once! And what better damage perk to pair it with than Precision Instrument, which caps out at a 25% damage buff. Altogether, that’s a 35% damage buff, which is sure to make quick work of any end-game ad or Champion.
Vengeful Whisper PvP god roll
- Bowstring: Flexible String
- Arrow: Fiberglass Arrow Shaft
- Perk 1: Archer’s Tempo or Hip-Fire Grip
- Perk 2: Successful Warmup and High Ground
- Masterwork: Draw Time
While Accuracy might be the ideal stat to buff on this bow, the truth is that Precision Bows are more used for swap-shots, also known as blinting. To that end, we want to buff both the draw time and the handling to allow for quick shots and swaps. Use Flexible String for the string, as it decreases draw time and handling while minorly decreasing accuracy. Then, use the Fiberglass Arrow Shaft to offset the accuracy loss from Flexible at the cost of some stability.
For Column 3, Archer’s Tempo or Explosive Head are your best picks. Explosive Head doesn’t increase the damage to a wicked degree, but the flinch from it can help fend off snipers. Keep Away might also be good, but as it buffs range and not accuracy, it is unknown if this will be of benefit as of writing. Column 4 has both Successful Warmup and Precision Instrument, both excellent choices depending upon the situation. While they both aren’t totally in line with the swap method, the reality is that you might not have time to swap, so hitting that 2nd shot quicker is vital in these situations.
