Destiny 2 Lotus-Eater: God Rolls & How to get it

by | Feb 10, 2025

Episode: Heresy will come with a banquet of old and new weapons for players to farm. One such weapon is the new Void Rocket Sidearm, Lotus-Eater.

Here, we will look at the god rolls on Lotus-Eater, how good it is, and how to get it.

How good is Lotus-Eater

While Lotus-Eater hasn’t officially been released at the time of writing, we expect this gun to majorly excel in PvE thanks to the brilliant perk pool available on the weapon. Repulsor Brace is always a hit for Void-lovers, and the newly buffed Destabilizing Rounds is guaranteed to turn some heads to this weapon. Lotus-Eater is also uniquely positioned to be the very first Void Rocket Sidearm, finally allowing Void build-crafters to fully take advantage of this powerful archetype.

However, despite its projected strength in PvE, Lotus-Eater won’t be making any waves in PvP. The poor perk pool combined with the fact that Rocket Sidearms simply aren’t too strong in the Crucible right now means that Lotus-Eater is one to miss for PvP players. Lotus-Eater is S-Tier for PvE and C-tier for PvP.

Lotus-Eater PvE god rolls

PvE Roll: All-Around
Barrel Quick Launch
Magazine High-Explosive Ordnance
Perk 1 Repulsor Brace (also good: Feeding Frenzy or Reconstruction)
Perk 2 Destabilizing Rounds (also good: Withering Gaze)
Masterwork Velocity
Origin Trait Vanguard’s Vindication

Starting off our PvE Roll, we’ve opted for Quick Launch as it provides a solid bump to Velocity, and a healthy increase to Handling which is always appreciated on Special weapons. This Velocity is further increased by High-Explosive Ordnance and a Velocity Masterwork. Our magazine choice also has the added benefit of slightly boosting our Blast Radius.

Perk slot 1 has a plethora of brilliant options. While we have chosen Repulsor Brace as our main pick, it is tough to ignore Feeding Frenzy and Reconstruction. If you don’t want to fully lean into a Void build, one of those reload perks will serve you well.

Perk slot 2 comes with the perk on everybody’s lips: Destabilizing Rounds. This is brilliant when paired with Repulsor Brace, but it also works well alone. However, if you want to forgo the Volatile capabilities of the perk, you can opt for Withering Gaze and treat Lotus-Eater as a utility pick rather than an add-clearing tool.

Lotus-Eater PvP god rolls

PvP Roll: All-Around
Barrel Quick Launch
Magazine High-Velocity Rounds
Perk 1 Strategist
Perk 2 High Ground
Masterwork Velocity
Origin Trait Vanguard’s Vindication

Like our PvE roll, Quick Launch and a Velocity Masterwork are our preferred picks to boost our Velocity. However, we instead opt for High-Velocity Rounds here to maximize the speed at which our shots will travel.

For perk slot 1, Strategist is the only somewhat viable pick as it will provide a consistent benefit on kill. While some other traits may give a more noticeable boost on kill, you won’t be able to take full advantage of the bonus due to the ammo economy on the weapon. In perk slot 2, you can opt for High Ground or Withering Gaze. High Ground is the best pick, as it will give you a damage bonus when above your enemy, which is always welcome.

How to get Lotus-Eater

The Lotus-Eater is a Nightfall weapon, meaning it will come from the Nightfall playlist in Episode: Heresy. Once you have obtained it as a reward when it is the featured weekly weapon, you can focus it at Commander Zavala in the Tower for 5 Vanguard Engrams and 25,000 Glimmer.

It is worth noting that Zavala will also offer a deal of 1 Vanguard Engram and 1 Nightfall Cipher (Adept), during the weeks that Lotus-Eater is the featured Nightfall weapon. This makes these weeks ideal for not only farming the gun itself but also for purchasing Lotus-Eater should you wish to save some Vanguard Engrams and Glimmer. We cover all Nightfall Weapons here.
