Hype for The Edge of Fate is at its peak. Players are exploring Kepler, diving into The Portal, and preparing for The Desert Perpetual. If you’re a new or returning player, finding reliable weapons can be a bit daunting.
Luckily, today, we’ll be talking about an easy-to-obtain weapon that’s a must-have for Guardians who skipped out on recent seasons: Returned Memory.

How good is Returned Memory
Returned Memory has pretty much everything a weapon needs to be meta: a strong frame, outstanding perks, and an easy way to obtain it.
In PvE, Returned Memory functions almost identically to Aberrant Action, a top-tier Solar rocket sidearm from Episode: Echoes. You’re mainly looking for Heal Clip and Incandescent here, which both function great on their own but can be pushed even further with a potent Solar build.
As for The Crucible, Returned Memory is slightly below average, which is where most other rocket sidearms land. You’re typically better off running a sniper rifle, fusion rifle, or shotgun in nearly every scenario. Returned Memory is S-Tier for PvE and C-Tier for PvP.

Returned Memory Perks and God Rolls
The Returned Memory Solar rocket-assisted sidearm can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Beacon Rounds, Impromptu Ammunition, Heal Clip, Impulse Amplifier, Lead From Gold, Blast Distributor.
- Perk 2: Adagio, Desperate Measures, Burning Ambition, Incandescent, One for All, Redirection.
- Origin Trait: Roar of Battle, Wild Card, Tenacity.
Returned Memory PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | Flared Magwell |
| Perk 1 | Heal Clip (also good: Lead from Gold) |
| Perk 2 | Incandescent |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Tenacity |
Quick Launch, Flared Magwell, and a Handling masterwork set Returned Memory up for success in PvE. Tenacity then provides some nice added stats and bonus damage on top of that.
Heal Clip and Incandescent is our go-to combo here; even when not utilizing a Solar build, these perks prove deadly in nearly all difficulties. If you’re struggling with the new ammo system, replacing Heal Clip with Lead from Gold isn’t a horrible option, although we’d recommend looking into armor mods like Scavengers before resorting to this.
Returned Memory PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | High-Velocity Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Beacon Rounds (also good: Impulse Amplifier) |
| Perk 2 | Desperate Measures |
| Masterwork | Velocity |
| Origin Trait | Roar of Battle or Tenacity |
For being a weapon from The Crucible, Returned Memory performs extremely poorly in PvP. However, to make the most out of what it has, we’ll start with Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, and a Velocity masterwork for some nice stat bumps.
Beacon Rounds and Impulse Amplifier both help with your accuracy, which is pretty nice given the projectile’s travel time; the choice between them is up to you. As for the final column, nothing stands out whatsoever, so our best recommendation is the mediocre Desperate Measures.
How to get Returned Memory
Returned Memory is a new Crucible weapon that arrived with Season of Reclamation (Edge of Fate). It can drop at the end of any Crucible match, but also has the chance to be featured as a “Bonus Focus” weapon (a guaranteed drop!). You can find all Crucible Weapons here.
