How good is Mint Retrograde
With the recent nerfs to Rocket Pulses, the use-case for them has shifted away from boss damage, and more towards being an add-and-major-clearing tool, and so the best perks available will of course change as well.
Thankfully for Mint Retrograde, it has some great roaming perks that lend themselves to helping take down miniboss or elite enemies rather than DPS on a boss-tier enemy itself. With options like Master of Arms and Frenzy alongside Field Prep and Rewind Rounds, Mint Retrograde definitely still has a few tricks up its sleeve, however, it isn’t the meta-defining powerhouse it once was. Mint Retrograde is A-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Mint Retrograde PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | Extended Mag |
| Perk 1 | Field Prep (also good: Hatchling) |
| Perk 2 | Master of Arms (also good: Frenzy) |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Accelerated Assault |
For our barrel and magazine, Quick Launch and Extended Mag are the way to go, giving us more Handling and Velocity, as well as an extra shot in the magazine.
In terms of perks, we recommend Field Prep as it improves the ammo generation of Mint Retrograde quite nicely, however, Hatchling is a suitable alternative if you want to go down that route. For perk 2, it’s pretty simple. Master of Arms is simply the easiest-to-access high damage perk, but Frenzy is an acceptable alternative, losing 10% bonus damage for improved Reload and Handling speeds.
Mint Retrograde PvP god rolls
With a weak archetype for PvP and no redeeming perks, this weapon is not worth chasing to take into the Crucible.

Hi I think that Field Prep is the best first perk
