How good is the Psi Aeterna IV
Psi Aeterna IV is a Rocket Pulse Rifle, immediately making it one of the better options in your energy slot. While they did receive a slight ammo nerf going into Renegades, they are still outrageously powerful, and Psi Aeterna IV is no exception.
Coming with Arc-focused perks, Psi Aeterna IV will be excellent if you are running an Arc build, particularly one that does well at generating Bolt Charge thanks to some of the perks. Coming with Trickle Charge is great, as even if you aren’t on Arc, a Storm’s Keep barricade can help you make use of this perk. However, if you are more of a solo player who doesn’t like Arc, Blast Disruptor is also great to boost your Grenade stat for builds that demand a wide range of high stats. Coming with Elemental Honing, too, makes this weapon a very solid option for DPS. Psi Aeterna IV is A-Tier for PvE and D-tier for PvP.

Psi Aeterna IV PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | Appended Mag |
| Perk 1 | Trickle Charge (also good: Blast Disruptor) |
| Perk 2 | Elemental Honing (also god: Jolting Feedback) |
| Masterwork | Handling |
| Origin Trait | Vanguard Determination or Accelerated Assault |
Given Psi Aeterna IV is a special ammo weapon, we want to maximise the Handling, so Quick Launch and a Handling masterwork are ideal. Appended Mag is our magazine of choice because it offers some auto-reloading features and is the best magazine without any negative trade-offs.
For perks, we recommend Trickle Charge as it allows you to continuously fire the weapon in DPS scenarios where this weapon will likely truly shine. However, if you want something more general, Blast Disruptor is a very suitable alternative. For perk 2, again, focusing on DPS, Elemental Honing is by far the best option. This perk will also simply activate in moment-to-moment gameplay, boosting your damage by a solid amount, particularly if you are on Prismatic. However, if you would rather lean further into Arc, Jolting Feedback is a great alternative.
Psi Aeterna IV PvP god rolls
With a weak archetype for PvP and no redeeming perks, this weapon is not worth chasing to take into the Crucible.
How to get Psi Aeterna IV
