Dawn Far Off is a solid Solar entry that excels in its niche: Solar Machine Guns. A solid workhorse that can hit hard and make light work of large waves of mobs. A definite recommendation for the locker should a Solar weapon be needed.

How good is Dawn Far Off

While not in the top brass of Machine Guns, it’s still one of the best Solar options, making it a desirable tool when it’s needed for the job at hand. 

Its perks lean more towards clearing rooms than big damage, but leaning into its Solar element provides the best results. Leaning into Meganeaura for tougher foes and big explosions can be incredibly effective, and paired with Burning Ambition, it can also bring those Solar benefits easily into your build. Redirection is at hand should you prefer a more rank-and-file clearing weapon, which Dawn Far Off can exceed at. 

For PvP, there are perks here to do a job, but in terms of meta, it would not be on the list of recommendations. Dawn Far Off is A-Tier for PvE and C-Tier for PvP.

Dawn Far Off can be built as an all-rounder with this god roll, bringing its Solar play front and centre for the best results.
Fluted Barrel acts as the base for this weapon, adding Handling to help get it ready faster. Extended Mag adds a handful of extra bullets to the Magazine, which helps keep Dawn Far Off tearing through oncoming waves of enemies.

Burning Ambition is where the Solar flair comes from; consistent damage scorches its target more quickly. The more you can apply this, the more explosions will come. Dealing extra damage to the enemy and the surrounding foes. Meganeura then complements this perfectly. A precision kill causes an explosion, but this damage and size are increased by the number of precision hits, so once dead, this helps continue to spread those scorching flames across the battlefield.

PvP will not be the main focus of this weapon, but Dawn Far Off does carry desirable PvP perks to do the work.

Arrowhead Brake for Recoil control to keep shots on target, paired with Ricochet Rounds for added Stability and Range, makes for a deadly combination and allows Dawn Far Off to be effective at longer Range and to have a much stickier feel on its target.

Collective Demolition is a new perk that benefits grenade energy. It will need some setup by obtaining a Tangle or elemental pickup, but it will benefit your grenade recharge to do so. Finish off with Target Lock, which increases damage for shots landing consistently on target, with headshots providing the most benefit to land.

How to get Dawn Far Off

Dawn Far Off was supposed to be the newest Solstice weapon. But since Seasonal events are no more, Bungie has provided a permanent way to acquire past Seasonal exclusives: the Tenet of Bravery monument at the Tower.
