by | Jun 10, 2026

Yeartide Apex was a weapon exclusive to the Solstice of Heroes event, but since the release of Monument of Triumph, the weapon is now available permanently through the Tenet of Bravery vendor at the Tower.

How good is Yeartide Apex

Yeartide Apex is a very solid contender in both PvE and PvP. While SMGs may not be in the greatest of spots right now, Yeartide Apex does its best to break the mold and bring the heat.

For your general PvE activities, it comes with the highly sought-after combo of Heal Clip and Incandescent. The only other SMG to roll with this was the Rite of the Nine variant of No Survivors, so if you missed out on this (like me), Yeartide Apex is your replacement. On top of this, it comes with Chaos Reshaped, which is the Salvation’s Edge raid perk, as well as some classics like Demolitionist and Attrition Orbs.

In PvP, Yeartide Apex is slightly one-dimensional, particularly in the second perk column, as all you really want is Target Lock. However, just because Yeartide Apex may not have a ton of PvP options doesn’t make it bad. If you’re able to get your hands on a higher-tier version of Yeartide Apex, you can get Enhanced Target Lock, comfortably dropping your time-to-kill to 0.67s. The spread of headshots to bodyshots becomes even more generous if you decide to invest in the Weapons stat too. Yeartide Apex is A-Tier for PvE and A-Tier for PvP.

Yeartide Apex Perks and God Rolls

The Yeartide Apex Solar submachine gun can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Transcendent Moment, Recycled Energy, Heal Clip, Feeding Frenzy, Lone Wolf, Attrition Orbs, and Demolitionist.
  • Perk 2: Burning Ambition, Binary Orbit, Incandescent, Harmony, Chaos Reshaped, and Target Lock.
  • Origin Trait: Dream Work and Tex Balanced Stock.

Yeartide Apex PvE god rolls

PvE Roll: All-Around
Barrel Fluted Barrel
Magazine Flared Magwell
Perk 1 Heal Clip (also good: Demolitionist or Attrition Orbs)
Perk 2 Incandescent or Chaos Reshaped (also good: Burning Ambition)
Masterwork Reload Speed
Origin Trait Dream Work or Tex Balanced Stock

For PvE, quality of life is king, so Fluted Barrel is our choice of barrel on Yeartide Apex. For the rest of the perks, we’ve opted to bolster the Reload Speed on the weapon as it starts at a rather low 27, so Flared Magwell and a Reload Speed Masterwork are great. This reload penalty can be offset by Dream Work, which reloads your weapon partially upon assists or assisted final blows, while also granting reload speed. Alternatively, you can just use Tex Balanced Stock and hip-fire for a couple of shots to boost your reload speed without any further conditions.

In perk slot one, Heal Clip is our winner as it immediately improves the wielder’s survivability, particularly when using close-range weapons such as SMGs. Alternatively, Demolitionist can be used as a standard grenade-focused perk, which can be beneficial if you are using a grenade-focused build, or Attrition Orbs for general utility.

In perk slot 2, we recommend either Incandescent or Chaos Reshaped. Incandescent provides some AoE damage to the weapon, which is always sought after on primary weapons; however, Chaos Reshaped does bump the damage by a substantial 35% at maximum stacks. Chaos Reshaped also grants the wielder periodic bursts of healing, allowing you to potentially forgo Heal Clip in favor of something like Demolitionist or Attrition Orbs. Alternatively, you can go for Burning Ambition (particularly when paired with Demolitionist), which works amazingly with grenade-focused builds that build Scorch, such as Ashen Wake on Titan, Starfire Protocol on Warlock, and even Young Ahamkara’s Spine on Hunter.

Yeartide Apex PvP god rolls

PvP Roll: All-Around
Barrel Smallbore
Magazine Ricochet Rounds
Perk 1 Lone Wolf (also good: Heal Clip)
Perk 2 Target Lock (also good: Chaos Reshaped)
Masterwork Range
Origin Trait Dream Work

On SMGs, you typically want Range, Stability, and Handling. Yeartide Apex already comes with 64 Handling, so we’ve decided to go all in on Range and Stability, so Smallbore, Ricochet Rounds, and a Range Masterwork are our picks. With these, the range gets boosted to a comfy 51, barely losing out to options such as Multimach CCX, with a range difference of approximately 0.7m when using a similar setup. For perk slot 1, we suggest Lone Wolf. There aren’t many other PvP-focused perks in this column, and Lone Wolf provides a passive benefit that is always handy in PvP. Alternatively, Heal Clip is a great option for fragging out in more casual game modes, particularly as SMGs are quite ‘in the fray’ weapons.

In perk slot 2, there is an obvious winner, and that is Target Lock. Dropping the time-to-kill down to a very low 0.67s, Target Lock is definitely the way to go. However, if you aren’t as confident in your aim, Chaos Reshaped can be an interesting alternative as the requirement is simply ‘remain in combat’. This essentially means you’ll have to deal or take damage at least every 7 seconds. If you’re able to get Chaos Reshaped x2, which demands being in combat for 24s (23s if enhanced), you’ll be able to kill in a blindingly fast 0.53s; however, these situations will be few and far between.
