Aphelion’s Rest is a moderately difficult Lost Sector in Destiny 2. There are easier Lost Sectors to farm for exotics out there, but if you must, Aphelion’s Rest can be manageable with the right loadout.
While our Destiny 2 Lost Sector Today guide features every Legend and Master Lost Sectors in the game, this mini-guide covers everything you need to know to prepare for the Aphelion’s Rest Lost Sector, including recommended loadouts, Threats, and Champions.

Subclasses and Exotics
Because of the active Solar Surge, we opt for a Solar 3.0 build here. Thankfully, each class has a setup that can take advantage of this. Hunters only require Celestial Nighthawk with a simple Restoration chaining setup with Ember of Empyrean and Ember of Torches. This combo will keep you healthy enough while also dealing incredible damage.
Warlocks should run our ‘Sun Wizard’ build on our Top Warlock Builds post. This build will allow you to clear out enemies while retaining x2 Restoration with relative ease and lets you run Well of Radiance for the boss.
Titans should use the Undying Flame build on the Top Titan Builds post. Running this build with Synthoceps gives you ample survivability and chunky damage with your Throwing Hammers.
Armor | Class | Type | Requirements | Source | Released | Requires | Exotic Perk |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Sunbracers | Warlock | Arms | Free-to-Play | Exotic Engrams | Season 1 | Free-to-Play | Increases the duration of Solar Grenades. Solar melee kills grant unlimited Solar Grenade energy for a brief time. |
Celestial Nighthawk | Hunter | Helm | Free-to-Play | Exotic Engrams | Season 1 | Free-to-Play | Modifies Golden Gun to fire a single high-damage shot. Enemies eliminated by the shot explode and grant you Super energy. |
Synthoceps | Titan | Arms | Free-to-Play | Exotic Engrams | Season 1 | Free-to-Play | Increased melee lunge range. Improved melee and Super damage when you're surrounded. |
Requirements
Difficulty | Legend | Master |
Recommended Power | 1830 | 1840 |
Exotic armor (if solo) | Rare | Common |
Needless to say, these aren’t easy, and the least you should do is ensure you have a reasonable Power Level. By reasonable, we mean no less than 10 Power Levels below the recommended levels. If you find yourself struggling, work on increasing your Power Level as much as possible and focus on Legend Lost Sectors.
Aphelion’s Rest Destiny 2 Legend guide
As you run through to the first area, there will be a large crowd of Taken Thrall. A couple of shots from your Hand Cannon will take care of them. Once they are dead, an Unstoppable Champion will be rushing towards you. Stun him and dump a few rockets into him to kill him quickly.
Once the first Unstoppable Champion dies, there will be a Void-shielded Taken Acolyte with a Stasis cannon. Make sure to kill him fast, as the slowing effect from his weapon is very annoying to deal with when everything is shooting you. There will be a second Stasis cannon Acolyte on the high ground, so play around the big tree for cover and look to kill him and the surrounding minor enemies.
While this happens, the Unstoppable Champion will likely move towards you. When he gets too close for comfort, stun him and nuke him with your Rocket Launcher. Once he dies, you can safely approach the Overload Champion and stun him with Chill Clip or your Rocket Launcher to dispatch him easily.
After everything is dead, continue up the slope to the boss area. At the back of the room, there are a bunch of Taken Knights, a lot of Stasis cannon wielders, and an Overload Champion. You can either Rocket them from a distance or get up close and personal with your abilities and Super to make things go faster. After they die, the boss will spawn with a large group of minor enemies. If you stay back, the boss will push you, making killing with some Heavy Ammo easy.
If you’re in a pinch, don’t be scared to use your Super, as it will probably save you in most situations. Once the boss dies, you can ignore the other enemies and grab the chest.
Lost Sector Rewards
As a reminder, completing Legend or Master Lost Sectors solo is the only way to acquire several specific Exotic armor pieces. While our Lost Sector Exotics guide covers them all, including their rotation for the remainder of the season, these are all Lost Sector Exotics available today:
