How good is Rake Angle
As it’s yet to become available, the most we can go on are the perk options, of which a few stand out. While the standard fare is rolling here, most attention so far has been on the Rimestealer + Chill Clip combo. Glaives do one thing really well, and that’s keeping you alive via the shield, so it makes sense to push that role even further by giving you easy damage resistance and crowd control. However, the drawback is that Aggressive Glaives tend to have extremely low mag sizes and reserves, and that’s no different here. While the aforementioned combo sounds nice, the fact of the matter is that a low mag size inhibits its true potential, though Overflow could help in Rimestealer’s place.
In PvP, why are you using a glaive? Yeah there’s some goofy tech you can pull off, but you’re better off using literally any other special weapon in its spot. Maybe we’ll see a day where they have some wider appeal and viability, but these aren’t weapons to start off with.

Haft | Low-Impedance Windings |
Magazine | Appended Mag |
Perk 1 | Replenishing Aegis (also good: Rimestealer) |
Perk 2 | Chill Clip or Close to Melee |
Origin Trait | Stunning Recovery |
Masterwork | Reload Speed |
As mentioned earlier, the main drawback to this weapon is a low mag size, so to help in the frequent reloads, we’ll be using Low-Impedance Windings, as it also gives a slight boost to Shield Duration as well. Appended Mag with a Backup Mag mod should bump the mag up to 6, but if it doesn’t, Alloy Mag is your best bet as a single extra shot is far less useful than a quick reload.
Perk 1 is going to be Replenishing Aegis. It is perfect for getting the most out of Chill Clip as every second you block damage, a round is refunded to the mag, allowing you to apply it way more. However, Rimestealer’s utility cannot be denied. The drawback is how little you might be activating it on account of the mag size not lending too well to Chill Clip. On that note, Chill Clip or Close to Melee are perfect Perk 2 picks. Chill Clip is tried and true no matter where it’s found, and Close to Melee is excellent for getting up close, especially when paired with Synthoceps.

Haft | Tempered Truss Rod |
Magazine | Swap Mag |
Perk 1 | Impulse Amplifier |
Perk 2 | Swashbuckler |
Masterwork | Handling |
Origin Trait | Hakke Breach Armaments |
Unlike most Glaives, Aggressive Frames have a much higher base range than the others, so there’s not too much of a need to buff it. What does need boosting is the handling, as Glaives are more swap weapons than anything. Tempered Truss Rod and Swap Mag are perfect for getting that swap speed as fast as possible, while only minorly affecting range.
For Perk 1, it’s hard to argue for anything else than Impulse Amplifier. While it doesn’t change the damage dropoff, it does make your projectiles much faster, making them more likely to hit. For Perk 2, Swashbuckler is your best option. Swashbuckler’s max buff can activate off of the glaive melee, which is perfect for chaining kills, as once it’s there, a shot + melee combo can take out any guardian!
How to get Rake Angle
Rake Angle will be dropping from Nightfalls whenever it is the featured weapon. Hard to tell right now when exactly that will be, but keep an eye out as we’ll be updating our Nightfall Weapon Rotation as the weeks go on.
In addition to Nightfalls, you can focus for them at Zavala once you’ve unlocked it in Collections. And, as always, Adepts will drop from the Grandmaster version of the current strike. We cover all Nightfall Weapons here.
