Even two weeks after the launch of The Edge of Fate, it seems as though Guardians are still discovering new loot to add to their arsenal. Included in this are both entirely new and reprised weapons, both of which are equally worth farming. Today, we’ll be taking a look at one of the latter, available from Pinnacle Ops: Outrageous Fortune.

How good is Outrageous Fortune
Outrageous Fortune hits all the same notes as top choices like VS Chill Inhibitor; the only problem is that grenade launchers as a whole haven’t been in the spotlight for quite some time.
Top combos like Envious Arsenal/Bait and Switch make Outrageous Fortune a great choice for dumping damage into large boss enemies. However, recent endgame damage scenarios don’t cater toward grenade launchers’ strengths, and the weapon archetype also consistently struggles with ammo problems after the changes introduced with The Edge of Fate.
Regardless, Outrageous Fortune is in the same place as many other grenade launchers in that it’s simply waiting for its time to shine. It’s only a matter of time until these weapons enter the meta once more, and when they do, you’ll definitely want an Outrageous Fortune. Outrageous is S-Tier for PvE and B-Tier for PvP.

- Perk 1: Blast Distributor, Impulse Amplifier, Envious Arsenal, Stats for All, Incandescent, Field Prep.
- Perk 2: Burning Ambition, Full Court, Chain Reaction, Bait and Switch, Binary Orbit, Explosive Light.
- Origin Trait: Problem Solver, Vanguard Determination, Hakke Breach Armaments.

Quick Launch, a handling masterwork, and Problem Solver provide us with some great utility through improved handling and reduced incoming boss damage. As for our magazine choice, Spike Grenades is always the go-to option, providing some extra free damage.
In regards to our main perks, Envious Arsenal and Bait and Switch is the obvious combo. Not only are they extremely potent on their own, but they also synergize perfectly with one another, which is why it’s the cornerstone of both this weapon and VS Chill Inhibitor.

Volatile Launch, High-Explosive Ordnance, and either a velocity or handling masterwork provide us with a nice suite of stats to get us started in The Crucible.
Impulse Amplifier helps with velocity even more, making it a lot easier to hit shots against moving Guardians. Lastly, Chain Reaction results in even more explosions, significantly increasing damage dealt if enemies happen to be clumped up.
How to get Outrageous Fortune
Outrageous Fortune is a random drop available from Pinnacle Ops in The Portal. You’ll have a random chance at obtaining it through any Pinnacle Op on any day, but keep an eye out for when it’s offered as a bonus focus drop!
