How good is Insurmountable
Precision Frame Sidearms aren’t terribly popular among the community, but this is the first ‘modern’ option that has been added, as previous options haven’t come with some subclass-specific perks like Repulsor Brace or Desperate Measures.
For PvP, there are a couple of options available for general dueling. To The Pain, Air Trigger, or some of the new perks like Lone Wolf or Closing Time. As it is in the energy slot, it may be popular to pair with some good Kinetic options like Chaperone, or any kinetic slot Sniper Rifle you may be a fan of. Overall, Insurmountable is A Tier in PvE and A Tier in PvP.

Insurmountable PvE god rolls
PvE Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Fluted Barrel |
Magazine | Flared Magwell |
Perk 1 | Demolitionist (also good: Repulsor Brace) |
Perk 2 | Desperate Measures (also good: Destabilising Rounds or One For All) |
Masterwork | Reload Speed |
The combination of Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell on a primary ammo weapon is very standard, as these options both provide a good quality-of-life boost to both Handling and Reload Speed.
Demolitionist is the ideal pick for Perk slot one; however, some may get more mileage out of Repulsor Brace if you are using a Void Build. Desperate Measures works well in the second perk slot with Demolitionist, but Destabalising Rounds should be used if you are using Repulsor Brace. One For All is a general damage perk that can be swapped instead of Desperate Measures.
Insurmountable PvP god rolls
PvP Roll: All-Around | |
---|---|
Barrel | Smallbore |
Magazine | Ricochet Rounds |
Perk 1 | To The Pain (also good: Lone Wolf) |
Perk 2 | Closing Time |
Masterwork | Range or Stability |
Smallbore and Ricochet Rounds both grant a good amount of Stability, as well as a little bit more Range, making Insurmountable much nicer to use.
To The Pain and Closing Time both are good consistency perks for duellng. This makes Insurmountable scale very well as the fight continues, as To The Pain activates based on damage received, and Closing Time improves some qualities of the gun as the magazine decreases. Lone Wolf is also good, as it grants some simple stat bonuses that are improved when you’re alone.
