How good is Haliaetus
Haliaetus has the potential to be top-tier in PvE but falls short in PvP. The High-Impact Frame deals great damage in PvE to larger targets. In PvP, it unfortunately suffers from the low Velocity stat and not too many desirable perks in its main slots compared to other options. For PvE, Haliaetus slots right in for the current meta, and this god roll will do the work in all levels of content.
It faces stiff competition in the market for High-Impact Frames, with similar stats to others. However, as a Strand, it has standout qualities worth exploring or having on hand if you decide to change builds and need a solid Strand weapon. PvP simply has more effective choices for the current sandbox, so it’s not recommended at this time for the Crucible. Haliaetus is A-Tier for PvE and C-tier for PvP.

Haliaetus Perks and God Rolls
Haliaetus is a Strand Rocket Launcher and can roll with the following perks:
- Perk 1: Auto-Loading Holster, Grave Robber, Blast Distributor, Envious Assassin, Cluster Bomb, Impulse Amplifier, Quickdraw.
- Perk 2: Binary Orbit, Collection Pugilism, Bipod, Reaper’s Tithe, Aggregate Charge, Hatchling, Elemental Honing.
- Origin Trait: Bray Legacy.
Haliaetus PvE god rolls
| PvE Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Launcher Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | Impact Casing |
| Perk 1 | Auto-Loading Holster (also good: Envious Assassin) |
| Perk 2 | Aggregate Charge (also good: Elemental Honing) |
| Masterwork | Velocity |
| Origin Trait | Bray Legacy |
The main perks focus on a team setup to get the most damage output, and that starts with the Auto-Loading Holster perk. Fire a rocket and immediately switch to your next big hitter weapon, while unloading, Haliaetus will refill its ammo while holstered, ready for its next rotation. Adding Aggregate Charge here is where the big damage comes from. Applying 3 debuffs gives this perk a 40% damage buff, and while it only lasts 3 seconds, it can easily be reapplied if someone on the team is using Tractor Cannon. You can also use other weapons and abilities to apply these debuffs solo, so Haliaetus does remain effective at all times.
The ‘also good’ perk selection can also provide a lot of fun. Envious Assassin can push the magazine size up to 3 shots with Elemental Honing, bringing solid damage at 5 stacks.
Haliaetus PvP god rolls
| PvP Roll: All-Around | |
|---|---|
| Launcher Barrel | Quick Launch |
| Magazine | High-Velocity Rounds |
| Perk 1 | Impulse Amplifier (also good: Quickdraw) |
| Perk 2 | Binary Orbit (also good: Elemental Honing) |
| Masterwork | Velocity |
| Origin Trait | Bray Legacy |
Haliaetus’s weapon frame, paired with some lacklustre final perks, doesn’t make for much exciting reading. Like all Rocket Launchers, it can still do a job in PvP if you can land your shots right.
Building into Velocity is the most important part of this setup, and Quick Launch, High-Velocity Rounds, and Impulse Amplifier all combine to enhance this stat. The final park is one lacking the real meat for this type of Rocket Launcher to shine in PvP, so we land on Binary Orbit for its damage bonus after getting a final blow with a Light Element weapon. The 25% damage increase will ensure no escape from its blast.
