How good is Corundum Hammer
Admittedly, adaptive frame hand cannons aren’t in the most meta spot for PvP right now, and that’s mostly due to aggressive and spread shot frames just absolutely dominating, along with Rose outclassing them thanks to the intrinsic move speed bonus. However, Corundum Hammer has a lot going for it that will likely let it contend with the more meta options. First off, its stats are rather solid for its frame, almost mirroring those of Exalted Truth, and secondly, it rolls with the coveted Slideshot + Explosive Payload combo, letting it hit way farther and flinch much harder.
In PvE, this has some stiff competition, though that’s not to say it’s necessarily bad. It just sadly has to compete with the likes of Unloved, easily the strongest Strand hand cannon to date, and it doesn’t offer too much different than a god roll Fatebringer outside of being Strand. Still, if you’ve been aching for a replacement for Kept Confidence or Better Devils, it’s right here. Corundum Hammer is A-Tier for PvE and S-tier for PvP.

Nothing too fancy for our barrel and mag choices, as this gun doesn’t really need any significant help beyond some minor boosts to handling and reload speed. To that end, Fluted Barrel and Flared Magwell will be our picks for columns 1 and 2.
For Perk 1, Firefly or Slice are easily your best choices. Firefly not only produces a hefty AoE, but also amps your reload speed shortly after landing a precision kill, and Slice can save you in a pinch by reducing your opponent’s outgoing damage. Perk 2 will either be Sword Logic or Explosive Payload. Sword Logic is your most reliable damage boosting perk, and Explosive Payload’s AoE can apply Slice’s effect to several targets at once, acting like an on-command Tear without the precision kill requirement!

No surprises for our PvP barrel and mag options here. Smallbore and Accurized Rounds go together very nicely, providing solid boosts to range and stability. Due to the slightly lower stability stat present, we’re rocking a stability Masterwork to make sure your follow-up shots are easier to land.
Perk 1 might not be stacked with PvP perks, but it matters little when Slideshot is available. This perk has been part of many a god roll in the past, and there’s no sign of that stopping now. Providing a free +20 Range, just for sliding, it’s hard to pick anything over it. As for Perk 2, it has slightly better options with Opening Shot or Explosive Payload. Opening Shot pairs with Slideshot to give you a guaranteed 100 range on that opening attack, and Explosive Payload’s flinch is going to make it a bit harder for your foes to land their shots on you.
