Regardless of what activity you’re playing, getting back into the fight as quickly as you can is of utmost importance. The Recovery stat helps you do just that, allowing you to control the rate at which your health regenerates.

Destiny 2 Resilience stat 101: The benefits
No matter what class you main or the activity you’re playing, you’ll always be able to feel Recovery at work. This stat takes control of the following:
- Regeneration delay
- Regeneration rate
Regeneration delay is the time between taking damage and beginning to heal it back, while regeneration rate is how quickly you regain that lost health. These, in combination, change how long it takes to get to max health again.
Here are the differences you’ll notice between each Recovery tier:

The “Total Regeneration Time” numbers are relatively exponential. The difference between each lower tier is only 0.2s, but moving from tier 9 to 10 alone will reduce the time by over half a second. So, if you plan on building into Recovery it all, it may be worth going up to tier 10.
Additionally, because health and shield regeneration delays are on separate timers, you might see yourself regenerating both health and shields simultaneously. While this doesn’t have too many practical applications (as it’s hard to take advantage of purposefully), you may occasionally see it happen in the game.
Recovery and the Rift Ability
Warlocks get an extra benefit from their Recovery stat that many newer players don’t realize. Similar to how Mobility affects dodge cooldown and Resilience affects barricade cooldown, the Recovery stat affects the cooldown of Warlock’s class abilities.

As with all other stats in Destiny 2, Recovery grants no additional benefits past tier 10.
How to increase your Recovery
The best way to increase your Recovery is simply by slotting in some Recovery stat mods in your armor. These are pretty cheap and can grant you up to five extra tiers on the fly.

Some subclass fragments also influence your Recovery stat. Spark of Volts, Ember of Searing, Echo of Obscurity, and Whisper of Chains all add 1 tier of Recovery for free. It’s also worth noting, however, that some fragments reduce your Recovery, so watch out!
Lastly, similar to the Resilience stat, Recovery is affected by an Origin Trait: Stunning Recovery. This perk, available on Nightfall weapons, grants you 40 Recovery for three seconds after stunning a Champion.

While many people now choose Resilience instead, Recovery is still a crucial stat to build into. Regenerating health quicker allows you to dominate in PVE and reengage faster in PVP. With this newfound knowledge, you should be able to elevate your gameplay even further and tackle even greater challenges.
