by | Jan 25, 2024

Unique items are the rarest and most specialized pieces of gear in the entire game. The right Unique can take your build to the next level, which is why actively chasing them is an important part of the Diablo experience.

This guide covers all the Diablo 4 Unique items that sit in the Rings slot, regardless of their class requirements (if any).

Diablo 4 New Rings: Malignant Rings

With Season of Blood and Patch 1.2.2, Blizzard introduced 5 new Unique Rings, one per Class, called Malignant Rings. As the name implies, these rings feature some of the most popular Malignant powers from Season 1. What are Rings in Diablo 4

Rings are a type of accessory in Diablo 4 that come with one or more powerful affixes that can’t be found anywhere else in the game. Unique rings take this one step further, featuring extraordinary powers that can elevate any build.

How to target farm Malignant Rings

Malignant Rings can only drop for Varshan, one of the five endgame bosses in Diablo 4. Available in World Tier 3 and 4, Echoes of Varshan requires players to defeat Grotesque Debtors while completing Whispers of the Dead for a chance to receive parts of Varshan’s body:

  • Trembling Hand
  • Blackened Femur
  • Gurgling Head

A proven strategy is to go to the nearest Blood Tide and complete Whispers there. The enemy density will also provide significant XP. Once you have enough parts, including a Malignant Heart if you’re playing on World Tier 4, you can summon Varshan.

How to target farm Unique Rings

Before Season 2, there were no specific methods to farm Unique items in Diablo 4. All you could do was farm the associated Enemy types in Nightmare dungeons and hope for the best. For example, if you wanted to farm a Unique Dagger, you had to farm Bandits and Cultists, preferably in Nightmare Dungeons.

That method still works, and you can still farm Uniques by chasing specific enemy types; however, you can now farm Uniques, including Unique Rings, by farming Endgame Bosses.

The table above tells you exactly what Endgame boss drops which Uniques in the column “Source”.

What are unique items in Diablo 4

Unique items are among the most sought-after items in the entire game. Offering top-tier stats and powerful affixes, Uniques are only available in World Tier 3 (Nightmare) difficulty and above.

Unlike Legendary weapons that can drop with random Aspects and Affixes, Unique items feature fixed Affixes and unique Effects that can’t be found anywhere else. Most Uniques are Class-specific, but a few of them can be equipped by any Class.
