To say that Diablo 4’s endgame was lacking at launch would be an understatement. But Blizzard overhauled the entire endgame system and introduced an evolving system of endgame bosses, each with a specific loot table allowing you to finally target farm Mythic and Unique items.
This guide covers Lord Zir’s loot table, its location, and how to summon it.
Updated as of Season of Hatred (S6).

Season 6 Changes
With the release of Season 6 and Patch 1.6.0:
- All Unique items now have a single boss for target farming.
- The summoning material requirements have been adjusted and standardized for the following bosses.
Lord Zir Location: The Darkened Way
Once you’ve gathered all the required materials, you can take them to the Darkened Way, located in the Gale Valley, Fractured Peaks. After clearing a couple of short corridors, you’ll arrive at the summoning Altar, where you can deposit the required items. There are no requirements to enter, but you’ll need the items to summon Lord Zir.
As soon as you enter Torment 1, the Darkened Way will appear on your map and mini-map. There are no requirements to enter, but you’ll need the necessary items to summon Lord Zir.
How to defeat Lord Zir Level
All Endgame Bosses have an elemental theme to encourage players to farm the appropriate elemental resist gear. Lord Zir deals Shadow damage, which means you should increase your Shadow resistance as much as possible. You can always use a Potent Elixir of Shadow resistance if you can’t reach the 70% Shadow resistance cap through your gear.
Tormented Lord Zir: More Rewards
All Endgame Bosses are now available at a much higher level. Called Tormented Echoes, they can be summoned using their regular Materials alongside 1x Stygian Stone. Stygian Stones can only be found in The Pit.
A source of Mythic Uniques
Tormented Bosses cost more to summon, but they drop far more rewards, making them instantly worth it if you can rise to the challenge. Since Season 5:
- Tormented Bosses drop 5 times as many Boss Materials.
- All Tormented Bosses have 5 chances to drop a Mythic at 1.5% chance each. In total, a 7.5% chance to drop a Mythic Unique.
This means that Tormented Bosses can drop multiple Mythic Uniques instead of just 1!
How Endgame Bosses Work
Endgame Bosses are available in Torment 1 difficulty and higher. Each Boss has specific requirements to summon, and each has a defined loot table that includes specific Unique Items and Cosmetics (Uber Duriel and Echo of Andariel have a higher chance to drop Uber Uniques).
